A contemporaneous report by ŠPORT.sk put the package at €10 million: €7.5 million fixed, plus up to €2.5 million in achievable bonuses. That is a media-reported figure, not an amount confirmed by either club.
What is the reported fee for David Strelec?
ŠPORT.sk reported that Middlesbrough’s deal for Strelec was worth €10 million in total, based on information attributed to the outlet’s sources. Its reported breakdown was:
- €7.5 million fixed
- €2.5 million in achievable bonuses
The reported total is therefore a potential package, not proof that Middlesbrough paid €10 million upfront or that every bonus will be earned. The clubs did not publicly confirm either the total or the components.
What did the clubs officially disclose?
Slovan Bratislava and Middlesbrough confirmed the transfer on 1 September 2025, but agreed not to disclose the fee, according to STVR/TASR’s report. BBC Sport also described the move as an undisclosed-fee transfer in its coverage published that day.

- Great gift for men, women, boys, girls, and youth
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
Strelec moved from ŠK Slovan Bratislava to Middlesbrough and signed a five-year contract. Because the clubs kept the financial terms private, the €10 million figure should be described as ŠPORT.sk’s report, not as an officially announced transfer price.
Why was the deal called a record?
Atlas Sports, Strelec’s agency, characterized the transfer as a record fee paid by a foreign club for a player from Slovakia’s top flight. The agency did not publish an amount, so its statement supports the record characterization only; it does not independently verify the €10 million figure. TASR’s report carrying the agency’s statement likewise gives no fee.

What the reported figures do—and do not—tell you
The public information supports a distinction between the clubs’ disclosure and the media report: the clubs announced no fee, while ŠPORT.sk reported a €10 million package with fixed and conditional parts. The available reports do not establish how the bonuses are triggered, whether any have since been earned, or the amount actually received by Slovan.
