Commercial fishing nets have no single standard price. Supplier listings reviewed in 2026 include selected gill nets priced from $96 to $690, a specific 100-foot by 6-foot micro-mesh gill net listed at $295–$414, and a 20-metre by 3-metre aquaculture drag net listed at $675. Those are prices for particular products—not a market-wide range—and the listings do not consistently state currency. Custom gear may require a quote.
Current listed prices for selected nets
The examples below are not directly interchangeable: they cover different net types and specifications. Prices are reproduced as listed by the sellers, without currency conversion.

Why one net costs more than another
Prices depend on what the net is designed to do and what is included. The listed products differ in type, dimensions, mesh, and construction, so putting their prices together as one range would be misleading.
- Net type and use: A gill net and an aquaculture drag net are different products. Prices for either do not establish the cost of a full-scale vessel trawl or purse-seine system.
- Dimensions and mesh: The listed micro-mesh net and aquaculture drag net have stated measurements, but those specifications do not apply to other products.
- Material and twine: Duluth Nets describes monofilament, multifilament, multi-strand monofilament, and micro-mesh options. FIPEC describes nylon mono- and multifilament nets.
- Rigging: Duluth Nets describes standard gill nets with foam-core rope and lead-core rope, and offers custom rigging by quote. FIPEC says smaller nets use a floating line and leadline, while larger meshes use heavier leaded line.
- Customization: Suppliers may price standard configurations in a catalog while quoting custom-built nets separately. Duluth Nets offers custom gill nets and seines by quote, and FIPEC says nets are made to customer needs.
How to compare quotes fairly
A price comparison is useful only when the offers cover substantially the same gear and terms. Give each supplier the same specifications and ask them to identify what the quoted amount includes.

- Describe the fishing method and net type. State whether you need a gill net, seine, drag net, or another design.
- Specify the net. Provide target use, finished dimensions, mesh size, material, and twine construction.
- List rigging and included components. Ask whether the price includes lines, floats, leads, accessories, and any custom work.
- Match order and delivery terms. Compare the same quantity and delivery location, and confirm currency, shipping, and tax treatment.
- Check local rules separately. Confirm that the proposed gear is lawful for the intended fishery and location with the relevant regulator. Supplier product listings do not establish legal suitability.
This checklist is a practical way to make offers comparable, not a formal industry standard.

Ask suppliers for a quote when you need a nonstandard size, mesh, material, rigging arrangement, or complete system. The current listings reviewed here do not establish comparable prices for full-scale vessel trawls or purse-seine systems, so do not estimate those costs by scaling up the prices of the smaller listed nets. Provide the same complete specifications to each supplier if you want to compare offers.
