What did the 2025 price evidence show?

Why “Piper Archer” does not have one price
Archer is a model family rather than a single uniform configuration. Piper describes the LX as a four-place personal aircraft with a 180-horsepower Lycoming engine and Garmin G1000 NXi avionics. Its DX is a diesel-powered trainer with a Continental CD-155 engine. Piper Archer LX · Piper Archer DX
When comparing aircraft, match the variant and model year first. Then compare engine and airframe time, condition, maintenance history, avionics and installed equipment, location, and listing date. A price from a different variant or an older, less-equipped aircraft is not a direct comparison with a late-model LX or TX.

It spans listings of different years and configurations; it is not a representative completed-sale range and its low end should not be read as the cost of a new or late-model Archer. How purchase price differs from restoration cost
A Piper Flyer 2025 account of one 44-year-old Archer restoration reported a $104,000 purchase, followed by major work and improvements. The published figures show why acquisition price alone can understate the amount invested in an older aircraft.

What to include in a real buying budget
The available price evidence does not establish a representative annual or hourly ownership cost for a 2025 buyer. Treat the asking price as one part of the budget, and obtain aircraft-specific estimates for the costs that apply to your situation.

- Ask the seller or dealer for aircraft condition, records, and inspection findings.
- Confirm engine and propeller status, remaining time, and any work due.
- Check the installed avionics and options against the listing and your requirements.
- Price insurance, hangar, fuel, maintenance, taxes, financing, and delivery separately.
- For a new LX quote, ask Piper or the dealer to specify configuration, options, delivery terms, and any applicable warranty.
Piper’s LX feature page states that new LX aircraft include a five-year warranty for airframe, systems, and Garmin avionics, and directs buyers to a local dealer for details. - For a new aircraft: request a current configured quote through Piper’s sales contact page or a local dealer; the public manufacturer pages do not give a 2025 price.
- For a used aircraft: compare current listings with aircraft of the same variant, model year, equipment, condition, and time, and verify availability and asking price directly with the seller.
- Before committing: distinguish the asking price from the final negotiated sale price and budget for inspection findings and ownership expenses separately.
