Official campus pages list cosmetology at $22,355 in Atlanta, Georgia, and $18,344 in New York, New York. Each campus describes its amount as the total for tuition, kit, fees, and taxes; these are location-specific examples, not a national price range or a guarantee of what another student will pay.
Published cosmetology costs at two campuses
| Campus | Program | Program length | Published total | What the total includes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta Northlake, Georgia | Cosmetology | 1,500 hours | $22,355 | Tuition, kit, fees, and taxes |
| New York City Manhattan, New York | Cosmetology | 1,000 hours | $18,344 | Tuition, kit, fees, and taxes |
These figures come from Empire Beauty School campus pages accessed in 2026: Atlanta Northlake and New York City Manhattan. The difference in both total and program hours shows why a price from one campus should not be treated as the price for another.
What the listed price covers—and what to verify
The Atlanta campus describes its cosmetology figure as tuition, kit, fees, and taxes combined. Its kit description includes mannequins and hair tools, as well as skin, nail, and makeup items. The New York campus also labels its amount as a total including tuition, kit, fees, and taxes. Confirm the current inclusions directly with the campus you plan to attend, especially if you need to compare a different program or location.
Program costs can be itemized differently in other school materials. An official Pennsylvania catalog for 2025–2026 breaks out application and registration fees, tuition, student supplies, and totals, and notes that student-supply totals may exclude sales tax. Use a catalog only for its stated school year, program, and location; its amounts are not interchangeable with current campus-page prices elsewhere.

How to find the price for your campus and program
- Choose the campus and program. Empire offers different programs and campus offerings, and the published hours and costs vary. Use the specific campus page rather than assuming the cosmetology examples above apply to esthetics, educator training, or another program.
- Ask for the current full cost breakdown. Confirm tuition, kit or supplies, fees, taxes, program hours, and whether any listed supply amount excludes tax. Request the relevant catalog or written estimate for your campus and enrollment period.
- Keep sticker price separate from your balance. The published program total is not the same as what you will owe after financial aid. Your final balance depends on your eligibility and individual aid offer.
Can financial aid reduce what you pay?
Empire says eligible students may have access to scholarships, grants, and loans, and directs students to its Financial Aid team to discuss their options. The school describes the process as completing the FAFSA, submitting any requested documentation, and receiving a Financial Aid Offer by email after review. Aid is posted to the tuition account after attendance.
Empire’s Financial Aid page says, “Every student’s financial situation is unique, and the best way to explore your options is by speaking with our Financial Aid team.” Because the campus, program, eligibility, and award amounts are not known from a published tuition figure, it is not possible to calculate an individual net cost from the campus examples.

Federal student aid figures for 2026–2027
Empire’s financial aid page labels the following as 2026–2027 federal student aid program amounts. These are program limits or ranges, not guaranteed awards or discounts for Empire students:
| Program | Amount listed by Empire | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Federal Pell Grant | Up to $7,395 maximum annually | Eligibility and award amount vary |
| Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) | Up to $800 | Eligibility and award amount vary |
| Direct Subsidized Loan | $3,500–$4,500 | Eligibility and borrowing limits apply; loans must be repaid |
| Direct Unsubsidized Loan | $2,000–$6,000 | Eligibility and borrowing limits apply; loans must be repaid |
| Direct PLUS Loan | Up to $20,000 | Eligibility and loan terms apply; loans must be repaid |
These figures are from Empire’s Financial Aid page. Grants and scholarships generally do not have to be repaid, while loans do. Check current eligibility and terms with the school and Federal Student Aid before relying on any amount in a personal budget.

How to compare Empire costs fairly
- Compare the same program across campuses, and label every amount with its campus and program.
- Check whether the displayed total includes tuition, kit or supplies, fees, and taxes.
- Compare program hours alongside price; the Atlanta and Manhattan cosmetology examples differ on both measures.
- Do not treat a published total as your post-aid balance. Use your own Financial Aid Offer to estimate what remains to pay.
