What the reported rates mean
Gold purity and units
The 24-karat and 22-karat prices refer to different purities and should not be treated as interchangeable. The reported 24-karat gold rate was Rs467,262 per tola or Rs400,601 per 10 grams; the 22-karat figure was Rs367,230 per 10 grams. A tola and 10 grams are different units, so compare like units when checking prices.

Association benchmark, not a guaranteed shop quote
These are reported association benchmark rates, not guaranteed transaction prices at every jeweller. A retailer’s quote may differ. For a purchase, confirm the current rate and the final price directly with local jewellers or bullion dealers.
International reference prices reported that day
Business Recorder reported international gold at $4,445 per ounce, down $10, with a premium of $20. Pakistan Revenue reported global silver at $69.70 per ounce, down $0.30. These are reference values reported for March 27, 2026, not live quotations. The reports do not establish that international movements alone explain the local rates.
