Seth Green’s frequently cited $40 million net worth is an estimate published by Celebrity Net Worth—not a figure Green has disclosed or an amount independently verified by the sources available. His career spans acting, voice work, writing, directing, and producing, but no reliable public accounting breaks down his earnings or establishes how much, if any, came from NFTs.
Is Seth Green really worth $40 million?
Celebrity Net Worth estimates Green’s net worth at $40 million, describing him as an actor, voice artist, director, writer, and producer. That is a third-party estimate, not an audited disclosure or a transparent calculation. The sources reviewed do not independently substantiate the amount or explain how it might be divided among acting, voice work, production, residuals, or other income. Celebrity Net Worth’s estimate should therefore be treated as an attributed claim, not a confirmed balance sheet.

There is no reliable published statistic in these sources showing Green’s actual earnings or the share attributable to NFTs. Repetition of the same estimate on other wealth websites would not, by itself, verify it.
How did Seth Green make his money?
Green has worked in several parts of entertainment: acting, voice performance, writing, directing, and producing. Those roles describe the breadth of his career, but the available sources do not provide salary disclosures or a dependable breakdown of income by role. It is not possible to calculate from them which activity contributed most to his wealth.

His NFT comments point to a creative interest in character-building, storytelling, and community—not a documented earnings stream. In a 2022 interview, Green discussed treating Bored Apes as characters and described a separate PizzaBot NFT project. Those remarks explain his creative rationale; they do not establish that NFT activity generated a significant share of his wealth. Blockhead’s June 25, 2022 interview covers those comments.

The phishing incident
Green said he was phished on May 17, 2022, while trying to mint an NFT through a fraudulent site. Decrypt reported that four tokens were stolen: Bored Ape #8398, which Green named Fred Simian; Mutant Apes #9964 and #19182; and Doodle #7546. Decrypt’s contemporary account identifies the tokens and reports Green’s statement.

Fred Simian and the White Horse Tavern rights question
Green had planned a television project called White Horse Tavern featuring Fred Simian. The theft and resale of the Bored Ape raised a question about who could commercially use the character. Bloomberg Law reported that the Bored Ape Yacht Club license tied commercial rights to the NFT’s owner, leaving uncertainty around rights after the token changed hands. That coverage describes an unresolved issue at the time; it does not establish a final court ruling or a settled legal answer. Bloomberg Law’s report discusses the licensing question.
Reported recovery and cost
Blockhead reported that Green recovered Fred Simian about a month after the theft at a cost of $300,000. That is the outlet’s reported amount associated with the recovery, not a verified accounting of all costs. Green described the process as difficult and said he had resources to pursue it; the report should not be read as establishing a general price for recovering stolen NFTs or a standard legal remedy.

- It is an estimate: Celebrity Net Worth publishes the $40 million figure, but the reviewed sources do not independently verify it.
- It is not an NFT earnings figure: Green’s comments describe creative plans and interests, not NFT revenue.
- The project’s later status is unclear: The available sources describe White Horse Tavern as planned in 2022 but do not establish whether it was completed or released.
