Local news accounts citing arrest reports say three women boarded after being told not to and then refused deputies’ orders to leave. This was a law-enforcement response, not a reported aircraft emergency.
What happened on the Frontier flight
The incident took place at Miami International Airport before Frontier flight F9-1204, bound for Philadelphia. According to WPLG Local 10 and NBC 6 South Florida, which described Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrest reports, an employee noticed the group had two carry-on bags but had paid for one. The employee reportedly asked them to step aside and pay for the second bag; a verbal confrontation followed.
The reports say the women boarded despite being told they could not board. Deputies later told them their boarding passes were denied or their tickets canceled and ordered them off the plane. After they allegedly refused repeatedly, deputies cleared the cabin. The flight was reportedly delayed about an hour. CBS Miami’s video report also describes the cabin being evacuated after the women allegedly forced their way onto the plane and refused to leave.
What the reports say about arrests and charges
Local 10 and NBC 6 reported that all three women faced trespass and resisting charges. One woman was additionally accused of spitting on a person and faced a battery charge. Local 10 quoted an alleged statement attributed to Nafisa Dockery in the arrest report: “We don’t have to listen; let’s just go,” she reportedly told Davana and Dionjana Cochran.

How to avoid a baggage-fee surprise
- Check the bag category and size: Confirm that the bag you plan to bring qualifies as the included personal item under Frontier’s current size rules. Do not assume a bag fits based on its label or appearance.
- Compare the full trip cost: Add the ticket price and any baggage charges you expect to pay, rather than comparing fares alone.
- Check bag pricing for your itinerary: Use Frontier’s Bag Price Checker and compare the available purchase options and timing before travel.
- Resolve a gate or counter dispute before boarding: If staff say a bag requires payment, ask about the applicable charge and your options before entering the aircraft.
What this incident does—and does not—show
This was one reported baggage dispute and does not establish how often similar disputes occur. The available accounts describe deputies clearing the plane after alleged refusals to leave; they do not describe an aircraft safety emergency.
