Atabaque is a Brazilian music agency that helps independent artists develop and promote their careers, combining marketing support with legal and rights-related services. André Izidro, formerly a marketing leader at KondZilla, founded it with lawyer Odilon Borges in April 2021. Later descriptions broaden Atabaque’s work to include artist mentorship, brand projects, entertainment consulting and, by August 2026, its own label expansion with The Orchard Brasil.
What Atabaque set out to do
When O Globo’s Pense Grande reported Atabaque’s launch on 13 April 2021, it described a practical gap the agency aimed to address: independent musicians needed more than a song or recording. They also needed to know how to promote it, invest in media, manage social channels and protect the rights attached to their work.

Izidro explained the proposition this way: “Com o crescimento do digital, quem faz música, hoje, precisa saber investir em mídia, gerir redes sociais, trabalhar a divulgação e registrar a própria obra para não perder receita. A ideia é dar todo esse suporte.” In English, he said that as digital platforms grew, musicians needed support with media spending, social media, promotion and registering their works so they would not lose revenue. (O Globo’s Pense Grande, 13 April 2021: O Globo.)
The launch report named singer Gabriel Elias, singer Caíque and duo Carol e Vitória as artists with work agreed for the following quarter. That was an announcement of planned projects, not confirmation that the engagements were later completed. Atabaque was then described as operating remotely, with its two founders, three employees and freelance collaborators around Brazil.

Launch funding and target
O Globo reported that Atabaque had received R$100,000 in investment at launch and set a goal of accelerating 20 artists by the end of 2021. The 20-artist figure was a prospective target, not a verified year-end result.
Who founded Atabaque
André Izidro founded Atabaque with Odilon Borges, a lawyer. Izidro had worked at Som Livre and moved in 2019 to lead marketing at KondZilla. In a December 2021 interview with Projeto Draft, he described deciding to open his own agency after leaving KondZilla, where he had been involved in marketing and the use of data. A 2026 event biography also identifies him as Atabaque’s founder and a former head of marketing and intelligence at KondZilla.

In that interview, Izidro discussed transparency in distribution and royalty arrangements, the importance of authentic audiences, and the potential for music-brand partnerships to keep reaching listeners beyond a brief campaign. These are his views on how the business should work, rather than independently established conclusions about the music industry as a whole. (Projeto Draft, 9 December 2021: Projeto Draft.)
Services described after the launch
At launch, Atabaque’s offer centered on marketing and legal consultancy, including promotion, media investment, social-media management and registration of musical works. Subsequent descriptions present a wider menu. The Rio Film Commission’s directory characterizes the business as a digital marketing agency and entertainment consultancy, and lists:

- Musical supervision for audiovisual projects.
- Marketing and launches for music careers and albums.
- Special projects for brand activation.
- Support with entertainment negotiations.
- Press advisory, courses and lectures.
- Rights management, including contract preparation and trademark registration.
This is the directory’s description of Atabaque’s services, not an independent audit of the work delivered. For an artist assessing an agency, the categories point to distinct needs: audience development and release promotion; contract and rights support; distribution and release infrastructure; and opportunities involving brands or audiovisual productions.
Artist mentorship
A 14 November 2023 Caderno Pop report described Atabaque mentorship for independent musicians preparing a single, EP or album. Co-founder Odilon Borges said the mentorship could help artists at early stages who wanted support building engagement. That report documents an offering at the time; it does not establish that mentorship is currently available. (Caderno Pop.)

Atabaque’s label and The Orchard partnership
On 6 August 2026, KondZilla reported that Atabaque was expanding its own label through a partnership with The Orchard Brasil. The article described Atabaque contributing artist development, career strategy and marketing, alongside The Orchard’s distribution infrastructure. It framed the label as a development from management and market intelligence toward curation and music releases.
The same KondZilla article said Atabaque had accelerated more than 80 artists and projects. That is a figure reported by a company-published article, not an independently audited count; it should not be treated as comparable to the 2021 target of 20 artists. The available account also does not specify the terms of the partnership or the label’s release schedule. (KondZilla, 6 August 2026.)

What an independent artist should take from the profile
Atabaque’s stated role is to connect creative work with the business tasks around a music career: planning and promoting releases, managing rights, developing audiences and pursuing opportunities in entertainment and brands. Its later label partnership adds a distribution relationship to the company’s reported activities, but the sources do not establish that every artist using its services receives a label deal or distribution arrangement.
An artist considering support of this kind should identify the particular gap they need help with—marketing, rights and contracts, distribution, or brand and audiovisual work—and clarify the scope of any engagement directly with the agency. The available reporting describes the service areas and company announcements, but does not provide standard fees, contract terms or independently measured outcomes.
