Lowe’s U.S. stores support Apple Pay at contactless-enabled payment terminals. The in-store rollout began on December 20, 2023, so this is not a new 2026 launch; whether a particular register is working can still vary. You pay with an eligible debit or credit card saved in Apple Wallet—not by adding Lowe’s itself to Apple Wallet.
How to pay with Apple Pay at Lowe’s
Wait until the register prompts for payment, then present your iPhone or Apple Watch at the contactless reader. Apple’s instructions cover the device steps; the terminal must be ready to accept contactless payment. Apple’s Apple Pay instructions
With an iPhone
- At the payment prompt, double-click the side button on an iPhone with Face ID.
- Authenticate with Face ID or your passcode.
- To use a card other than the displayed default, tap the card and select another one in Wallet.
- Hold the top of the iPhone near the contactless reader until you see the checkmark and “Done.”
With an Apple Watch
- Double-click the side button.
- Scroll to choose a different card if needed.
- Hold the watch display near the contactless reader and wait for the confirmation.
What you need
- A debit or credit card that is eligible for Apple Pay and supported by its issuer.
- The card already added to Apple Wallet on a functioning iPhone or Apple Watch.
- A working contactless reader at the register.
- Available funds or credit, and any required device authentication.
Apple Pay uses a device-specific account number and a unique transaction code rather than sharing the physical card number with the merchant. Apple says it does not charge consumers an extra fee to use Apple Pay, though your card issuer’s usual interest, foreign-transaction fees, and other account terms may still apply. Whether a particular Lowe’s-branded credit or commercial card can be added depends on its issuer and card program. If it will not add to Wallet, use another eligible card or pay with the physical card.

Apple Pay, Lowe’s Wallet, Scan to Pay, and Lowe’s Pay are different

Does Apple Pay work online or in the Lowe’s app?
In-store contactless acceptance and digital checkout are separate. Lowe’s directs eligible online shoppers using Affirm to choose Apple Pay and then select Affirm, but that does not establish that Apple Pay appears for every order. The payment options can depend on the order, fulfillment method, financing choice, device, browser, and checkout configuration. Look for the Apple Pay button on the payment screen. Will Lowe’s rewards and offers still apply?
Your bank-card rewards follow your card issuer’s rules. Lowe’s account benefits are separate: tapping Apple Pay alone may not identify your MyLowe’s or Pro Rewards account or automatically match every offer or receipt. Scan or enter your membership identification before paying if you want account-linked benefits. What if Apple Pay does not work?
- Make sure the terminal is displaying a payment prompt; ask the cashier to restart it if needed.
- Hold the top of the iPhone or the Apple Watch display directly over the contactless symbol and keep it there briefly.
- Confirm the intended card is selected and complete Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode authentication if prompted.
- Try another eligible card in Wallet. If the issuer declined the transaction, Apple Pay cannot override that decision; contact the issuer about the card.
- If contactless still fails, use a physical card or a Lowe’s app payment option. At self-checkout, try Apple Pay only if the kiosk has a contactless reader; Lowe’s does not publish a guarantee for every kiosk.

Keep the receipt and, when returning an item, bring the same device or card used for payment if practical. A refund may be routed to the underlying card associated with Apple Pay, but Lowe’s does not establish a single Apple Pay-specific refund procedure in its public receipt guidance. Lowe’s says it may be able to look up receipts using information such as a phone number, credit card, MyLowe’s card, or checking-account number; contact the store or customer service if it cannot locate the transaction.
