That is not a first-team-only figure. Blackburn Rovers’ latest reported wage bill
The most recent accounts located for Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Limited cover the financial year ended 30 June 2025. Companies House records them as filed on 3 April 2026. The accounts report £24,602,778 in wages and salaries, up from £21,981,656 in the previous year. The figures are reproduced in The Accounts’ transcription; the filing date is recorded in Companies House filing history.
This is a company-wide payroll line, not a published total for the men’s first team. It should not be treated as the club’s current player wage bill or compared directly with estimates that cover first-team salaries alone.

| Source and season | Estimated amount | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Capology, 2026–27 | £15.47 million | Estimated first-team fixed gross salaries before bonuses |
| Capology, 2026–27 | £19.3375 million | Estimated total including bonuses |
| SalaryLeaks, 2026–27; page updated 24 September 2026 | £20.5 million | Estimated wage bill including bonuses |
These are modeled figures, not audited payroll disclosures. Capology labels its salary and contract data as estimates and separates fixed pay from estimated bonuses. SalaryLeaks says comprehensive Championship salary data is rarely published and that many values are estimates informed by reporting and club wage-bill information. The different totals therefore reflect estimates with different scopes and bonus assumptions, not necessarily a factual disagreement.
Who is Blackburn’s highest-paid player?
Current estimates put Todd Cantwell and Samy Morsy level on £30,000 per week each, equivalent to £1.56 million a year when annualized. These are estimated gross fixed salaries, not confirmed contract disclosures. Capology describes Cantwell as its highest-paid player but lists the same fixed salary for Morsy; SalaryLeaks also gives both the same rounded weekly and annual figures. The evidence supports calling them joint highest estimated earners, rather than naming one confirmed sole top earner.

How to read the figures
- Year: The £24.6 million accounts figure is for 2024–25; the player-salary totals are estimates for 2026–27.
- Scope: The accounts line covers company-wide wages and salaries, while the salary-site totals concern the first team.
- Pay components: Capology distinguishes fixed gross salaries from totals including estimated bonuses. SalaryLeaks’ 2026–27 total includes bonuses.
- Status: The accounts figure is reported in filed accounts; current player totals and individual salaries are estimates.
SalaryLeaks’ earlier estimate of about £14 million for first-team salaries in 2025–26, with Cantwell at £30,000 weekly or £1.6 million annualized, is a prior-season estimate—not the latest official wage bill. SalaryLeaks’ season page was last updated on 17 June 2026.

The accounts’ going-concern discussion includes the directors’ statement: “The directors consider that the ongoing legal matter therefore creates a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt on the company’s ability to remain a going concern.” This is a statement about the company’s circumstances in the accounts, not evidence about player salaries or the estimates above.
