The original announcement listed 54 vacancies, and applications were reported open from 5 to 30 September 2025. That application period has ended; candidates cannot apply under the original window now.
The vacancy count has since become unclear: BPSC’s 14 August 2026 exam calendar lists 60 vacancies, while a secondary report says nine were added in March 2026, for a total of 69. The official calendar reviewed does not confirm that 69 figure. Check BPSC’s latest notices for the controlling count and any new application opportunity.
What happened to the 54 APS and WMO vacancies?
The original 54-vacancy figure was listed in BPSC’s June 2025 examination calendar and reported alongside Advertisement No. 108/2025. A later BPSC examination calendar, dated 14 August 2026, lists 60 vacancies and notes that correspondence with the department is under way regarding a two-stage examination. A separate MyBharatJobs report claims nine vacancies were added in March 2026, bringing the total to 69, but the official calendar reviewed does not confirm that figure.
These are different dated updates, not a settled final count. For the official calendar entries, see BPSC’s June 2025 calendar and BPSC’s 14 August 2026 calendar. The reported 69 figure is from MyBharatJobs; treat it as unconfirmed unless BPSC publishes a corresponding notice.

No. Scroll.in reported the original application window as 5–30 September 2025, and it has closed. The report also identified the recruitment as Advertisement No. 108/2025. BPSC’s application guidance says candidates must apply online and that applications sent by courier or post are not accepted.
There is no confirmed reopening date in the information available here. Check BPSC’s Apply Online page and application FAQ for any new notice or application window. Do not rely on the expired dates as instructions for a future round.
Who was eligible under the reported qualifications?
Reporting on the original notice described several qualifying degree routes from a recognized university:
- A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Science, Public Health Engineering, or Biotechnology.
- A bachelor’s degree in Planning or Architecture.
BPSC’s official syllabus lists the same subject-degree fields for the subject paper. These degree descriptions do not establish every eligibility condition. The complete age limits, category-related provisions, required documents, fee conditions, and any other rules must be checked in the full advertisement and applicable corrigenda rather than inferred from this summary. The original notice and reported qualifications are covered in Scroll.in’s 3 September 2025 report; the subject fields appear in BPSC’s official syllabus PDF.

What examination and syllabus did BPSC publish?
BPSC’s syllabus specifies two compulsory papers: objective General Studies and a subject paper associated with the candidate’s degree discipline. Subject coverage includes practical public-health and environmental topics such as:
- Solid and liquid waste management.
- Hazardous, biomedical, and chemical waste.
- Physical and chemical treatment methods.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Environmental impact assessment and environmental clearances.
The syllabus says the department may revise the subject and syllabus over time. In addition, BPSC’s 14 August 2026 calendar notes correspondence about a two-stage examination. Candidates should therefore check the latest official notice for the selection stages, syllabus in force, and exam date rather than assume the original arrangement remains unchanged. See BPSC’s syllabus and examination material and current exam calendar.

For recruitment status, use BPSC’s own notices and online application pages. Its FAQ rejects postal and courier submissions and points applicants to the online process and its user manual. If a new application period is announced, follow the instructions linked from that notice, not an old form or third-party summary.
BPSC lists general enquiry and IT-section contacts for online-application technical problems on its contact page. Check that page for current contact details before calling or writing.
