The Bank of Baroda (BOB) application for 4,000 apprentice posts closed on March 11, 2025. This is a historical recruitment update, not an open application notice. Bank of Baroda’s recruitment listing later added a final-result notice dated April 30, 2025. The details below describe the 2025 recruitment round only.

What happened to the 4,000-post recruitment?

Bank of Baroda advertised 4,000 apprentice vacancies in 2025, with March 11, 2025, as the application deadline. The bank’s recruitment listing includes a final-result notice dated April 30, 2025, so the application window has long passed. The 2025 dates and terms should not be treated as details for a later BOB recruitment round.

Who was eligible to apply?

Education and age

The notice required a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent. Applicants had to be 20–28 years old as of February 1, 2025; applicable government age relaxations also applied.

Prior apprenticeship and experience restrictions

The notice excluded candidates who had already undertaken an apprenticeship and candidates with at least one year of training or job experience after completing the relevant educational qualification. It also set additional conditions connected to the applicable apprenticeship registration scheme, so the notice’s exact wording governs individual cases.

State choice and local language

A candidate could apply for engagement in one state and had to demonstrate proficiency in one of that state’s specified local languages. The language test followed the online examination. Candidates whose school records established the required language qualification could be exempt from the test.

How were candidates selected?

  1. Online examination: Candidates first took the examination. Selection depended on meeting the bank’s applicable cut-off.
  2. Document verification: Candidates had to provide documents supporting their eligibility and application details.
  3. Local-language test, if required: Candidates who could not establish proficiency through qualifying school records had to take the test after the online examination.
  4. Medical fitness determination: Engagement was also subject to the bank’s medical fitness requirements and the other conditions in the notice.

Candidates were responsible for their own travel costs for in-person document verification or language testing.

What were the stipend and training period?

The apprenticeship lasted 12 months. The notice set the monthly stipend by branch location:

Branch location Monthly stipend stated in the 2025 notice
Metro or urban ₹15,000
Rural or semi-urban ₹12,000

The notice provided for a loss-of-pay adjustment where applicable and listed no other allowances or benefits.

Was this a Bank of Baroda job?

No. The notice expressly said, “This is neither an employment in the Bank nor a contract employment in the Bank.” It also stated that an apprentice had no right to claim employment at the bank after completing training. The position was an apprenticeship, not a regular bank job or a promise of permanent employment.

What fees applied, and how did the application work?

For the 2025 round, the notice set these non-refundable application fees and intimation charges, each plus GST:

  • PwBD candidates: ₹400.
  • SC/ST and female candidates: ₹600.
  • General, EWS and OBC candidates: ₹800.

Applications were online-only. Applicants had to register on the applicable NATS or NAPS apprenticeship portal and then complete the Bank of Baroda/BFSI Sector Skill Council (BFSI SSC) application process. The notice said registration was complete only after the application fee had been deposited with BFSI SSC. Those instructions and fees belong to the closed 2025 exercise; they are not a route to apply now.

What to check when comparing apprenticeship offers

For this recruitment, the terms that most affected a candidate’s decision were the state and local-language requirement, the stipend for the branch location, the 12-month training period, the examination and in-person selection stages, the prior-training and experience restrictions, and the fact that the role did not guarantee employment. Bank of Baroda’s 2025 notice set the terms under the Apprentices Act, 1961; applicants should use the official notice for the precise conditions of that round.
