Beneil Dariush said the UFC would pay him both his show money and win money after his scheduled UFC 311 fight was canceled. The report does not give a dollar amount, so his total payment cannot be confirmed from the published information.
What did Beneil Dariush say the UFC would pay him?
In remarks to The Schmo reported by Sherdog on January 19, 2025, Dariush said, “It’s excellent, I can’t complain, they’re giving me both show and win money…I appreciate Dana, I appreciate the UFC, I appreciate Hunter”. He also said: “They didn’t pull anything back where I can complain.”
Those are the two payment categories he identified: show money and win money. The report does not publish the amounts in his contract or a combined total. Its headline describes a “full fight purse,” but that wording does not establish a specific dollar figure.
Why was Dariush’s UFC 311 fight canceled?
Dariush was scheduled to fight Renato Moicano at UFC 311 on January 18, 2025. After Arman Tsarukyan withdrew from the lightweight title main event, Moicano moved to face champion Islam Makhachev in the main event, leaving Dariush without an opponent on the card. Sherdog’s report covers the change; UFC’s event page identifies the event.

How much was Dariush’s UFC 311 payment?
No dollar amount is stated in the cited report. The available account is Dariush’s description of what the UFC was giving him, not a published contract breakdown or an independently verified payment record. It is therefore accurate to say he reported receiving both show and win money, but not to assign a numeric purse.
How Dariush responded to the change
Dariush expressed appreciation for UFC CEO Dana White, the UFC, and Hunter Campbell, and said he understood the decision to move Moicano into the title fight. He also wished he had the opportunity to fight for the title. A later UFC athlete feature retrospectively notes that Dariush had been preparing to face Moicano at UFC 311.
