What the 391-post BSF notice covered
The Border Security Force invited eligible Indian male and female sportspersons to apply for 391 Constable (GD) Group C posts under the sports quota. The notice described the posts as carrying all-India liability, with possible posting anywhere in India or abroad. The BSF recruitment notification is the controlling source for the vacancy and eligibility details; the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports also listed the notice on its recruitment page.
Application dates and fee in the closed drive
The online application window ran from October 16, 2025, at 00:01 to November 4, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. The deadline has passed, so the notice’s fee is not a current payment instruction.
For this 2025 drive, the application fee was ₹159 for male General (UR) and OBC applicants. Women and SC/ST applicants were exempt, according to the notice.

Who was eligible
Education and age
Applicants needed matriculation or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board and had to be 18 to 23 years old, subject to age relaxation under prevailing recruitment rules. The notice specified the matriculation certificate as proof of age.
Sports achievement and documents
Eligibility depended on the sport or discipline and the competition achievement recognized in the notice’s stated period. The required achievement was not identical across all disciplines: applicants could qualify through the applicable medal, position or participation category. Candidates had to upload evidence of their highest qualifying achievement. Missing or insufficient proof could result in rejection during scrutiny.

Because the accepted competitions, achievement levels and certificate requirements are specific to the notice, check the official recruitment document rather than assuming that every sport requires a medal or accepts the same participation record.
Selection process described in the notice
- Document verification: Candidates were required to present original supporting documents for scrutiny.
- Physical Standard Test: Candidates proceeded through the PST as specified in the recruitment process.
- Merit ranking: The notice based merit ranking on the specified sports achievement.
- Detailed Medical Examination: Candidates selected on merit were to undergo the DME.

BSF issued a separate sports-quota notice for 549 posts later in 2025. That drive accepted applications from December 27, 2025, through January 15, 2026, and its application period has also ended.
