Apple Card Savings is paying 3.50% APY as of September 23, 2026—not a newly reduced rate. Apple’s latest disclosed rate is variable, and the most recent change was an increase from 3.40% to 3.50%, following earlier cuts in 2026.
What is the Apple Card Savings rate now?
Apple lists a 3.50% APY, effective September 23, 2026, on its Apple Card Savings page. The APY can change at any time, so treat 3.50% as a dated snapshot rather than a guaranteed rate for the life of an account. The account agreement also says that interest-rate decreases are communicated as required by law.
The latest change was an increase: 9to5Mac reported on September 23 that the rate moved from 3.40% to 3.50% (September rate report).
How the rate changed in 2026
| Date | Reported APY change | Source and context |
|---|---|---|
| April 2026 | 3.65% to 3.50% | AppleInsider’s September 2026 account reports the earlier reduction. |
| June 2026 | 3.50% to 3.40% | MacRumors reported the rate decrease on June 4. |
| September 23, 2026 | 3.40% to 3.50% | 9to5Mac reported the increase; Apple’s current disclosure lists 3.50% APY as of that date. |
These are reported rate snapshots, not a promise that the APY will remain at any one level.

Who provides the account, and who can open it?
Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch, Member FDIC, provides Apple Card Savings. Apple Payments Services LLC, an Apple subsidiary, acts as a service provider to Goldman Sachs; Apple says neither Apple Inc. nor Apple Payments Services LLC is a bank. Apple Card owners and co-owners may apply, subject to eligibility, and manage Savings through Apple Card in Wallet on a supported iPhone or iPad. Apple explains the application requirements in its Savings account support page.
The January 2026 Associated Press report that JPMorgan was expected to become Apple Card’s issuer described a transition expected to take about two years. It does not establish that the transition is complete or that Goldman Sachs has stopped providing Savings. Apple said the card’s features, including its affiliated Savings account, would remain; the report does not specify future Savings account arrangements (Associated Press, January 8, 2026).

How deposits, interest and withdrawals work
- Daily Cash: Opening Savings directs future Daily Cash automatically into the account. You can also add money from a linked bank account.
- Interest: The Goldman Sachs deposit agreement says interest compounds daily, is credited monthly, and is calculated using the daily-balance method. The rate may change at any time.
- Withdrawals: Transfers to an external bank typically take one to three business days, subject to transfer limits and the account agreement.
These terms are in the Goldman Sachs Bank USA Deposit Account Agreement.
Where to check the APY
You can check Apple’s current product disclosure on its Savings page and view your account through Apple Card in Wallet on a supported Apple device. The deposit agreement provides for monthly electronic statements, but the disclosed APY is not limited to statements: Apple publishes a current rate disclosure, and the rate can change between statement periods.

What the launch figures do—and do not—show
At launch, Apple announced a 4.15% APY as of April 14, 2023, and stated that the rate could change at any time (Apple Newsroom, April 17, 2023). In August 2023, Apple reported that Savings had passed $10 billion in deposits and that 97% of customers had chosen automatic Daily Cash deposits (Apple Newsroom, August 2, 2023). Those are historical figures reported by Apple, not current adoption or balance data.
At launch, Apple vice president Jennifer Bailey described Savings as a way for users to get more value from Daily Cash and save money. That was Apple’s promotional characterization, not independent evidence of account performance.

How to compare the account with other savings options
A current APY alone does not determine whether an account suits you. Compare rates using their effective dates, check whether each rate is variable, and consider eligibility, the bank providing the deposit account, access requirements, and how deposits and withdrawals work. The figures available here do not establish a current, like-for-like competitor rate comparison, so they do not support ranking Apple Card Savings against named alternatives.
