What Amazon said about seasonal pay and health coverage
Amazon said seasonal employees would earn at least $18 per hour and described health-care coverage as available after 90 days of employment for seasonal employees. Those are statements from Amazon’s 2024 announcement; they should not be read as a guarantee that every role had the same pay, schedule or benefits. Amazon said job specifics and benefits varied by position, so the individual listing was the relevant source for terms.
Full-time, part-time and seasonal roles were different options
The announcement named three employment types but did not provide a role-by-role comparison of duration, hours or benefits. Anyone assessing a particular opening would need to check its listing for the details that affect take-home pay and availability:

- Pay and benefits: the listing’s specific compensation and eligibility terms, rather than assuming every position shares the seasonal terms in the announcement.
What the return-hire figure does—and does not—show
Amazon reported that nearly one-third of its holiday hires return. The figure is Amazon’s own statement, not an independently validated statistic in the cited sources. It does not establish that a seasonal role will lead to a permanent position or that any individual employee will be rehired.
The announcement included a personal account from Liv Uribe, identified as a Senior Regional Human Resources Manager, who said a seasonal position helped her get a foot in the door at Amazon. That is her experience, not evidence of a typical outcome for seasonal workers.

Are Amazon’s 2024 holiday jobs still open?
The 250,000-role announcement was for the 2024 holiday season. Its historical application directions—Amazon’s local jobs page and text alerts by sending NEWJOB to 31432—do not confirm current vacancies or current application procedures. For openings now, check Amazon’s live job listings and follow the application instructions on the specific posting; do not rely on the old campaign directions.
