Ability WA is a Western Australian not-for-profit disability service provider and says it is registered with the NDIS. It offers supports including therapy, early childhood intervention, home and living, community services, employment and assistive technology. The organisation describes itself as a leading provider, but the information available here does not establish that it is one of WA’s largest by a comparable measure such as revenue, workforce or number of people supported.
What services does Ability WA provide?
Ability WA groups its current supports into six areas: therapy, early childhood intervention, home and living, community services, employment and AbilityTECH equipment services. The organisation says support may be delivered at one of its Perth metropolitan hubs, in a customer’s home or community, at school, or by telehealth. See Ability WA’s service overview.
Therapy and equipment for adults
For adults, Ability WA lists occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, therapy assistants, dietetics, mealtime services, social work, positive behaviour support and psychology. Its other listed supports include assistive technology and equipment, sleep solutions, posture and mobility support, and home modifications. Availability and suitability depend on the person’s needs and circumstances.
Home, community and employment
Housing options listed by Ability WA include supported independent living, specialist disability accommodation and transitional accommodation. It also describes short-term accommodation and employment services. Ask the organisation which options are currently available and whether they fit your goals and funding.

Is Ability WA an NDIS provider?
Yes. Ability WA says it is registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Its service list includes supports that may be relevant to NDIS participants, but registration alone does not establish that a particular service is available to every participant or covered by an individual plan. Confirm the support, funding arrangements and current availability with Ability WA and, where relevant, your plan manager or support coordinator. Ability WA’s service page provides its overview.
What is an Ability WA service agreement?
Ability WA describes its service agreement as a contract between the customer and the organisation. It sets out the agreed supports, their costs, payment arrangements and applicable terms and conditions. It is separate from an NDIS plan: the plan describes a participant’s funded supports, while the agreement records what the provider will deliver and on what terms. Read Ability WA’s NDIS information.
Rank #2
- Lightweight reacher helps individuals with decreased mobility and reach grab things, get dressed, and more
- The long size has greater extension abilities and it can reach up to 30 inches to take a strong hold on whatever you need
- Comes with a built-in magnet and dressing-aid hook attached to the head of the reacher
- Reacher head is rotatable up to 360° to eliminate the need to twist the wrist

You can use one provider for all your supports or use different providers for different supports. Ability WA says customers may change providers, but should consider the existing agreement’s terms, including cancellation provisions, and arrange a new agreement with the replacement provider. Before signing, ask for the current price, what is included, payment and cancellation terms, and how the service will be delivered.
Where are Ability WA’s hubs?
Ability WA describes five hubs in the Perth metropolitan area. Its northern hubs information says the Wanneroo hub opened in August 2024 at an ECU Health Centre location and the Yanchep hub opened in October 2024, also at an ECU Health Centre location. It says the Currambine hub closed in July 2024, with services and staff relocating to Wanneroo. Hub arrangements can change, so confirm the current address and appointment details before travelling. What is known about Ability WA’s history and size?
Ability WA says its origins date to the Spastic Welfare Association, established in 1951, and that it adopted the Ability WA name in April 2021. Its about page describes it as a not-for-profit disability service provider that has supported Western Australian families for more than 75 years. Those dates and the service history are the organisation’s own account. Read Ability WA’s about page.
The organisation’s website calls it a leading provider, but that description does not by itself prove a ranking. The available information does not provide a like-for-like comparison of Ability WA’s revenue, workforce, participant numbers or service reach against other Western Australian providers. Its publications index lists a 2024/2025 annual review and financial statements; those documents may offer organisational detail, but their existence alone does not establish relative size. See Ability WA’s publications.
