What were the eligibility requirements?
- Qualification: MBBS, BDS or an equivalent qualification recognized by the MCI/DCI, including completion of internship.
- Completion period: The qualification had to be completed between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024, within three years before the residency start date of 1 January 2025.
- Registration: DMC/DDC registration was required before joining if selected.
- Previous Junior Resident terms: Candidates who had already completed three Junior Resident terms at AIIMS or elsewhere were ineligible. A term counted as six months, and even a partial term counted as one term.
How were candidates selected and seats allocated?
AIIMS planned allocation through online counselling based on merit and candidates’ ranked specialty preferences. AIIMS New Delhi MBBS graduates received priority for initial allocation; remaining posts were then offered to other candidates. Eligible-candidate and counselling information was to be posted on the institute website, with no separate counselling intimation sent to candidates.
What pay and deposit did the notice specify?
The advertised pay was Level 10 of the pay matrix, with entry pay of Rs. 56,100 per month plus usual admissible allowances. For eligibility for seat allocation, candidates had to transfer a Rs. 25,000 security deposit electronically. The notice provided for a refund after the counselling rounds for candidates not liable to forfeiture; it said the amount could be forfeited if a candidate was allotted a post but did not join. These payment conditions applied to the expired January 2025 session only.

Do not rely on the 2025 vacancy count, eligibility dates, pay or deposit terms for a future session.
