Alexander Isak’s reported Liverpool salary is £250,000 a week, or £13 million a year. The £78 million headline is a projection across a reported six-year contract—not an official salary disclosure or a sum confirmed as paid. Neither Liverpool nor Newcastle has published his wage terms.
How the reported £78m figure is calculated
A 2 September 2025 report by The Football Group, relaying figures reported by Give Me Sport, puts Isak’s Liverpool pay at £250,000 per week. The report annualises that figure to £13 million and multiplies it by six years to reach £78 million.
| Reported figure | Calculation or meaning |
|---|---|
| £250,000 a week | Reported Liverpool weekly wage, attributed to reports relayed by Give Me Sport in The Football Group’s article. |
| £13 million a year | £250,000 multiplied by 52 weeks. |
| £78 million over six years | £13 million multiplied by the six-year term cited in the report. |
The total assumes the reported weekly amount applies throughout the full reported term. It is not evidence of money already earned or paid. The available report does not establish whether the figure includes bonuses, how tax is treated, whether image rights are included, or how payments are structured.
Is Isak’s Liverpool salary officially confirmed?
No. Liverpool’s announcement described the agreement as long-term, while the Premier League confirmed the signing; neither published a wage figure. Newcastle’s sale announcement called the transfer fee a “significant British record” but did not disclose its amount. The £250,000 weekly wage and £78 million total should therefore be treated as reported estimates, not confirmed club payroll information.

The six-year length and 2031 end date are details in the salary report, rather than terms stated in Liverpool’s public announcement. Liverpool’s official account of Isak’s arrival is available in its 1 September 2025 interview; the Premier League also published an account of the signing.
How much was Isak reportedly paid at Newcastle?
The same Football Group report puts his Newcastle wage at £120,000 a week. Compared with the reported Liverpool figure of £250,000 a week, that would be an increase of £130,000 per week—just over double the reported Newcastle wage. This comparison is also based on secondary reporting; neither club has confirmed either salary.

What happened between Newcastle and Liverpool?
On 19 August 2025, Newcastle said Isak remained under contract and that no club official had committed to letting him leave that summer. The club added that the conditions for a sale had not materialised and that it did not foresee them being met. On 1 September, Newcastle announced his sale to Liverpool for a “significant British record transfer fee,” without stating a sum. The Premier League confirmed the completed move the same day and reported that Isak would wear No. 9.
In his first Liverpool interview, Isak said, “I want to create history. I want to win trophies.” His remarks and Liverpool’s description of the agreement as long-term appear in the club’s interview published on 1 September 2025.

What Isak’s Newcastle goal figures count
Two official totals describe different competitions, so they should not be treated as conflicting figures. The Premier League records 54 goals and 10 assists in 86 Newcastle Premier League appearances. Liverpool’s interview introduction records 62 goals in 109 appearances across all competitions during his three Newcastle seasons.
