Coverage, coats, and application
Benjamin Moore’s Regal Select eggshell technical data sheet lists coverage of 400–450 square feet per gallon at the recommended film thickness. Actual coverage depends on surface texture and porosity. The sheet recommends two coats for full color development and to maximize paint-film performance; this figure is specific to Regal Select, not a direct comparison with Sherwin-Williams. The technical sheet recommends a premium roller or brush. Choose a roller cover suited to the surface and product directions; the right nap depends on the texture being painted. Coverage estimates are planning figures, not a guarantee of how much paint a particular wall will use.

How to compare price without a misleading brand verdict
Prices shown on the companies’ pages are not matched configurations, so they cannot establish which brand is cheaper. The Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint page displayed a list price of $89.49 for a one-gallon configuration in U.S. dollars for U.S. locations; it asks customers to register or sign in to confirm local pricing and availability. Benjamin Moore’s Regal Select page listed $33.99–$78.99 for flat and $34.99–$84.99 for matte, eggshell, satin/pearl, and semi-gloss. Its listed options and offers can change.
Before choosing on cost, price the same amount of paint in the desired color and sheen from nearby sellers. Confirm the base or tint configuration, any current promotion or contractor price, delivery fees, and whether the surface needs primer or extra coats. A lower price per can may not mean a lower project cost if you need more product or additional preparation.
