Ford’s F-Series was the best-selling pickup line in the United States in calendar year 2025, with 828,832 trucks sold, according to Ford. A July 2026 sales compilation ranks the Chevrolet Silverado second, Ram pickup third, GMC Sierra fourth and Toyota Tacoma fifth. These are rankings by reported sales—not ratings of quality, value or suitability for a particular buyer.
Best-selling pickup trucks in the U.S. in 2025
The table ranks individual model lines by reported U.S. sales during calendar year 2025. Ford’s F-Series figure is confirmed in Ford’s release. The other figures are from the Top 100 Sales compilation, updated July 18, 2026; its publisher flags the General Motors and Toyota figures as trade-compiled and pending verification against primary reports.

The figures are reported sales, not a consumer survey. The available sources do not establish retail-only totals or separate fleet and commercial sales for each model, so the ranking should not be read as a measure of household preference.
What the sales ranking says—and what it doesn’t
Ford’s lead is for the F-Series line
Ford reported 828,832 F-Series sales in 2025, an 8.3% increase, and said the line remained America’s best-selling truck for the 49th consecutive year. The total is for F-Series, not the F-150 alone; those labels are not interchangeable. Ford also reported 155,051 Maverick sales, up 18.2%, and 70,960 Ranger sales, up 53.6%. These figures show that Ford’s sales reach extends beyond its top-ranked line, but they do not change the table’s five-model ranking.

GM’s leadership claim uses a different counting unit
General Motors said it led U.S. full-size pickups for the sixth straight year and that the combined Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra had their best sales in 20 years. That is a manufacturer-group comparison combining two nameplates; it is not the same as ranking Silverado and Sierra separately, as the table does. GM’s accessible release does not state separate unit totals for the two models.

Toyota confirmed a record Tacoma year, but not the unit figure in its release
Toyota described 2025 as a best-ever sales year for Tacoma. Its accessible U.S. sales release does not provide a Tacoma unit total, which is why the 274,638 figure above is attributed to the secondary compilation rather than presented as an independently confirmed Toyota total.
