The NFR Act Apprentice recruitment round for 5,647 training slots is closed. Applications reportedly ran from 4 November to 3 December 2024, so candidates cannot apply to this notice now. Check the Northeast Frontier Railway’s official website for any later recruitment notice; the 2024 dates below are historical, not current instructions.
What was the NFR recruitment 2024 notice?
The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northeast Frontier Railway (RRC/NFR), issued a centralized notification for Act Apprentice engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961. It covered designated trades at NFR workshops and units for the 2023–24 and 2024–25 training years. The notice listed 5,647 training slots in total.

These are training slots listed in the 2024 notification, not a current vacancy count. The NFR official website is the place to check for later notices.
When did applications open and close?
A contemporaneous Hindustan Times report gave the application period as 4 November 2024 through 3 December 2024. The official notice’s extracted schedule has incomplete date fields, so these dates are attributable to that contemporaneous report. The deadline has passed and this round is closed.

Who was eligible?
The notice set the age requirement at 15 years completed and under 24 years as of 1 August 2024. It provided upper-age relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates, and ten years for persons with disabilities, with additional conditions for ex-servicemen.
Applicants generally needed Class 10 with at least 50% aggregate marks and an NCVT- or SCVT-recognized ITI certificate in the relevant trade. The notice included exceptions and trade-specific provisions. Eligibility therefore depended on both the ITI trade and the unit selected; the relevant trade and unit annexures, rather than a general summary, governed an application.

How was selection carried out?
RRC/NFR prepared merit lists by trade, unit, and community. For general trades, merit was based on the average of Class 10 and relevant ITI marks. Laboratory Technician (Pathology and Radiology) merit instead used Class 10 marks and Class 12 Science marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The notification said marks in all subjects counted, not a best-of-five calculation.
Shortlisted candidates were called for document verification. The notice required original documents and the prescribed medical certificate for final engagement.

How did the application process work?
Applications for this round were submitted online through the RRC/NFR route. The notice permitted only one application and instructed applicants to choose a unit offering a slot in their ITI trade. It said no physical copy of the application had to be sent; that was guidance for the now-closed 2024 round, not a current application instruction.
The non-refundable application fee was ₹100. SC/ST candidates, persons with disabilities, and women candidates were exempt. Applications are no longer being accepted under this notice.

The notification said selected apprentices would receive the stipend prescribed under applicable provisions, but it did not establish a specific stipend amount here. It also said no hostel accommodation would be provided, so candidates had to arrange their own accommodation.
Training did not guarantee a railway job or absorption into railway service. The notification stated: “Imparting training in Railway will not confer any right to the candidates for their absorption in Railway after successful completion of training.”

Use the Northeast Frontier Railway official website to look for subsequent recruitment announcements. Do not rely on the 2024 dates, slot count, fee, or process as instructions for a future round; a later notice may set different terms.
