Only on a specific European weekly chart. For the week ending November 16, 2025, Black Ops 7 ranked ahead of Battlefield 6 in European unit sales and revenue. But Black Ops 7’s reported European opening-week sales were lower, and US year-to-date rankings also favored Battlefield 6. The available figures do not establish a worldwide lifetime-sales winner.
Did Black Ops 7 beat Battlefield 6 in sales?
It depends on the measure and time period. The Game Business, citing GSD data, reported that Black Ops 7 ranked No. 1 in European unit sales and revenue for the week ending November 16, 2025; Battlefield 6 ranked No. 4 in both. That is a result for one week in Europe, not a cumulative or worldwide sales comparison. The Game Business reported the chart on November 21, 2025.
The same report estimated that Black Ops 7’s European opening-week unit sales were 63% below Battlefield 6’s debut-week sales in October. GSD’s comparison covered physical and digital sales but excluded downloads through subscription services. The weekly chart and opening-week estimate measure different periods, so they do not contradict one another.
Which game had the stronger reported US sales position?
In GameSpot’s report on US best-selling games of 2025 through November 29, Battlefield 6 ranked No. 1 and Black Ops 7 No. 7. Activision had not disclosed a specific Black Ops 7 sales total, and the ranking does not settle global sales. GameSpot also noted that Game Pass value is not represented by full-game sales alone.

Separately, The Ringer reported on December 30, 2025, that Circana senior director Mat Piscatella said Black Ops 7’s November full-game dollar sales were down by a double-digit percentage compared with Black Ops 6 in November 2024. Piscatella described Battlefield 6 as the US market’s best-selling game year-to-date by full-game dollar sales at that time. Why Game Pass complicates the comparison
Black Ops 7 was included in Game Pass, while Battlefield 6 was sold separately in the reporting cited for the comparison. Subscription access can let someone play without buying a full-game copy, so tracked purchases do not capture every player or the full value of subscription access. The European GSD comparison specifically excluded subscription downloads. A direct unit-sales comparison therefore describes tracked purchases, not total access or engagement.

That distinction also matters when interpreting pre-release analyst comments. Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics told GameSpot, “CoD’s muscle memory in the market is so strong that players will buy it even if they complain about it”. This was commentary about brand familiarity, not a measured sales result. Wedbush Securities equity research associate Kade Barr predicted before release that Black Ops 7 would have more unique players in its first year, while sales could be close if both games launched smoothly; he also pointed to Game Pass as a factor that could leave players room to buy games such as Battlefield 6. Do player counts or streaming views prove which sold more?
No. Player counts, streaming audiences, copies sold, and full-game revenue are different measures. Windows Central reported before Black Ops 7 launched that Call of Duty HQ ranked highly on US consoles, but HQ included Black Ops 6 and Warzone, so that figure was not a Black Ops 7-only count. Stream Hatchet’s Q1 2026 report estimated Battlefield 6’s average streaming viewership at 58.9K in October 2025, 14.4K in November, and 3.4K in January 2026. What is known about Battlefield 6’s launch sales?
Electronic Arts said Battlefield 6 sold 7 million copies in its first three days, as reported by GameSpot. GameSpot also discussed a later 10 million figure but said EA had not officially announced sales beyond 7 million at the time. The 7 million figure is a publisher-reported launch result; neither figure supplies a matched global lifetime-sales comparison with Black Ops 7. GameSpot

To decide whether one game “beat” the other, first specify what counts as winning. The reported evidence covers different geographies, windows, and metrics:
