How many vacancies were announced?
The combined notice listed 581 posts in total. Of these, 549 were Hostel Welfare Officer positions; the remaining 32 were across the Warden, Matron and Lady Superintendent roles. These are vacancy counts in Notification No. 25/2022, not a count of appointments or final selections.
What was the last date to apply?
The official notice originally scheduled online applications from 6 January through 5:00 PM on 27 January 2023. In a report published on 30 January 2023, Scroll reported that TSPSC deferred the deadline to 5:00 PM on 3 February 2023. Both dates have passed; the extension is a contemporaneous news report, while the original dates appear in the official notice.

What qualification was required for HWO posts?
The visible official notice text specifies graduation and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree for HWO Grade-I and Grade-II. The notification also included other job titles, and their requirements may differ. Applicants needed to check the qualification against the relevant post code in the full official notification rather than assume one qualification applied to all 581 posts.
How did the application and selection process work?
Scroll’s 30 January 2023 report described an online application through the commission website and said candidates needed One Time Registration before applying. It reported an online application processing fee of Rs 200 and an examination fee of Rs 80. Those fees and process details are secondary reporting; the official notification is the authoritative reference for the recruitment’s terms.
The same report described an objective-type written examination delivered through CBRT or OMR. It said the exam was expected in August 2023; that was a forecast at the time, not confirmation of the examination date or proof that it took place then. Scroll summarized the age range as 18–44 years as of 1 July 2022, subject to applicable relaxations. Candidates should consult the official notification for the exact age conditions and relaxations relevant to a post.
