United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) issued a notice on 8 January 2024 for 250 Administrative Officer (Scale I) Generalist posts. The notice used eligibility cut-off dates in 2023, which explains the “2023” framing, but this is a historical recruitment notice—not a current invitation to apply. The application schedule and final recruitment outcome are not established by the available notice extracts.
What the UIIC AO notice advertised
The notice, titled “Recruitment of 250 Administrative Officers (Generalist),” is dated 8 January 2024 and carries reference number UIIC/HOHRM/AO-Gen/01/2024. It advertised 250 Scale I Generalist positions. The category-wise figures below are provisional or indicative, according to UIIC.
| Category | Posts |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Castes (SC) | 37 |
| Scheduled Tribes (ST) | 20 |
| Other Backward Classes (OBC) | 67 |
| Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) | 24 |
| Unreserved (UR) | 102 |
| Total | 250 |
UIIC also specified 4% horizontal reservation for persons with benchmark disabilities. Horizontal reservation applies across the relevant categories; it is not an additional set of posts on top of the 250.
Who met the stated eligibility criteria
Education and computer knowledge
Applicants needed a degree from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification, with at least 60% marks. The minimum was 55% for SC/ST candidates. The qualification had to be obtained by 31 December 2023; candidates whose results were declared after that date were ineligible under the notice. UIIC also stated: “Working knowledge of Computer is a must.”
#1 Best Overall
Age and nationality
The prescribed age range was 21–30 years as of 31 December 2023, subject to the notice’s nationality rules and applicable category-based age relaxations. The notice states birth-date bounds, but the available extract does not provide them; check the full official notice for the exact dates and relaxation rules rather than inferring them.
How selection was described
UIIC said selection would be based on overall performance in an online examination and an interview. The available notice extract does not establish the Generalist exam’s sections, marks, or timings, so those details should not be assumed from another UIIC recruitment cycle.
Rank #2
Posting locations and transfer expectations
UIIC said vacancies were substantially concentrated in the Western and Southern zones and that most selected candidates were expected to be posted in those zones. The notice set a minimum initial posting period of five years; requests to transfer to a preferred location would not be entertained during that period. It also made candidates liable to be posted anywhere in India.
