The $250 Pixel 10 Pro discount was real, but it was a past U.S. promotion—not a price you should assume is still available. Amazon listed the unlocked 256GB model for $849, down from $1,099, in late July 2026. That deal was reported on the Jade color with low inventory. Google’s related July offers have ended, and its U.S. offers page viewed August 18 is focused on Pixel 11 and Pixel 10a promotions. Check the exact listing and checkout total before deciding. A retail markdown also says nothing by itself about Google’s or Amazon’s profit margins.
What the $250 Pixel 10 Pro deal actually covered
The clearest late-July example was an unlocked 256GB Pixel 10 Pro at Amazon for $849, compared with its $1,099 list price. Android Central reported the price on July 30, 2026, and said the Jade color was the one receiving the discount at the time; stock was low. This was a direct listed-price reduction, not a trade-in, carrier activation, financing offer, or store-credit bonus, according to that report. Android Central’s July 30 deal report
Other Pixel 10 Pro prices refer to different configurations or promotions, so they should not be blended into one “current price”:
| Configuration or offer | Reported price and terms | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Unlocked 256GB, Amazon | $849, down from $1,099 | $250 off; reported July 30, 2026, for Jade, with low stock, per Android Central. |
| Unlocked 128GB, Amazon | $749, down from $999 | A separate $250 reduction reported February 12, 2026, by Tom’s Guide. |
| 128GB Obsidian, Google Store | $699, down $300 from list | A limited offer reported July 13, 2026, ending August 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT, per 9to5Google. |
| General Google Store promotion | $250 off Pixel 10 Pro or Pro XL | The reported promotion ended July 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT, per 9to5Google. |
The figures are historical reported offers, not guarantees of what a listing costs now. A search result or deal story can outlive the price it describes. Google’s U.S. offers page, viewed August 18, 2026, does not show the earlier general Pixel 10 Pro offer as active. Google Store offers

Why a steep discount appeared before Pixel 11
The timing fits a generation transition: the Pixel 11 launched or entered its preorder period on August 12, 2026, and retailers had reason to move remaining Pixel 10 inventory. Android Central connected the Amazon pricing to the approaching launch. 9to5Google suggested excess inventory could explain the narrowly targeted Obsidian promotion, but Google did not confirm that explanation. Treat inventory clearance as a plausible interpretation, not a company statement.
Color-specific or storage-specific discounts can also reflect which stock a retailer wants to sell, while launch-season competition can make promotions more aggressive. None of these explanations establishes that a phone is being sold below cost. The headline’s “laughs at profit margins” is a joke, not a conclusion supported by disclosed manufacturing costs or retailer margins.

Does the Pixel 10 Pro still make sense after Pixel 11?
At a genuine $849 for 256GB, the Pixel 10 Pro can be compelling for someone who wants an unlocked, smaller Pro phone and values Pixel photography and Google’s software features more than owning the newest generation. The phone has a 6.3-inch display, Tensor G5, a triple-camera system, and features including Gemini integration, Magic Cue, Camera Coach, and PixelSnap magnetic charging/Qi2 support. Tom’s Guide praised its AI integration, cameras, display brightness, and battery life; those are review assessments, not guarantees for every buyer or use pattern. Compare the actual out-of-pocket cost of the Pixel 10 Pro with Pixel 11, not just their advertised headline values. Google’s offer page lists a $200 Google Store credit with an unlocked Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL and $250 off a Pixel Watch 5 when bought with either Pro model, for offers listed August 12–27, 2026. Neither is the same as an instant $250 reduction on the phone: credit has value only if you will use it, and the watch offer requires buying another product. Google Store offer terms and dates

The Pixel 10 Pro is a better fit when
- The live price is meaningfully below the comparable Pixel 11’s net cost, without relying on a trade-in value or carrier bill credit you would not otherwise choose.
- You want a compact flagship, an unlocked purchase, and Pixel camera and software features, and you plan to keep the phone rather than resell it soon.
- The exact storage and color you want are available from a seller whose return and warranty terms you have checked.
Wait or compare more closely when
- You want the newest generation and the longest remaining support period, or expect to sell the phone soon after purchase.
- A Pixel 11 trade-in or carrier offer makes its real cost competitive. Separate bill credits from cash discounts: credits may require activation and continued service for a promotional period.
- The remaining Pixel 10 Pro stock is an unwanted color or configuration, or its discount is small enough that a newer model is worth the difference to you.
For the Pro XL, compare like storage with like storage and apply each model’s actual promotion. A discount on the smaller Pro does not automatically make it better value than an XL deal. Likewise, open-box or refurbished prices are not directly comparable with a new phone: condition, battery health, included accessories, warranty, and return restrictions can differ.
Check these details before paying
- Confirm the configuration. Verify Pixel 10 Pro versus Pro XL, storage capacity, color, and that the price is for a new device if that is what you want. The reported $749 and $849 figures were for different storage tiers.
- Inspect the seller and fulfillment. On a marketplace listing, confirm who sells and ships the phone, and review warranty coverage, return deadline, and any restocking or promotional-item return terms. Do not assume a marketplace purchase has the same terms as buying from Google.
- Read the offer mechanics. Separate instant price cuts from trade-in estimates, store credit, bundled accessories, and carrier bill credits. Check any condition, activation, service-duration, redemption, or financing requirements before comparing totals.
- Check carrier fit. “Unlocked” offers carrier flexibility, not universal compatibility. Confirm network-band support, 5G availability, physical SIM or eSIM needs, and any carrier-specific activation limits with your carrier.
- Compare the checkout total. Include sales tax and any financing cost, and compare the Pixel 10 Pro’s net cash cost with the Pixel 11 offer you would actually use—not the maximum advertised trade-in or accessory value.
For a live check, compare the Amazon Pixel 10 Pro listings with Google Store offers and, if useful, Best Buy’s Pixel 10 Pro listings. These are places to check, not confirmation that a particular discount or configuration is available. Carrier deals at Google Fi should be evaluated separately from unlocked cash pricing because service conditions can change their effective value.
