Use those figures as benchmarks, then verify today’s price, stock and delivery terms for your ZIP code before buying.
What the 31-deal Home Depot list actually tells you
Tom’s Guide’s 2025 article advertised 31 deals starting at $12 and described discounts of up to 50% across appliances, tools, garden furniture and other departments. It highlighted patio dining and conversation sets at up to 30% off, with some umbrellas and bases starting at $26. Those prices and inventories belonged to the May 21, 2025 snapshot; they should not be treated as current listings.
The more recent 2026 promotion provides a better planning reference. USA TODAY reported the event ran May 14 through May 27, 2026, and included up to $1,000 off major appliances, up to 40% off patio furniture and markdowns on selected grills. Home Depot’s own promotional material listed appliances, tools, outdoor power, grills, patio furniture, garden-center items, air conditioners, flooring, home décor and storage/organization, including up to 35% off select furniture and up to 40% off select air conditioners.

Patio furniture sets
Patio furniture is the clearest recurring headline category. Recent coverage ranged from Tom’s Guide’s up-to-30% discount on dining and conversation sets to TechRadar’s report of savings of up to $500 during the 2026 event. Search for a complete patio furniture set, but compare the delivered total rather than the percentage alone.

- Fuel type and whether the required tank, natural-gas conversion or accessories are included
- Burner count, primary cooking area and any side-burner capacity
- Ignition design, heat-control range and cleaning access
- Warranty coverage, delivery and the assembly service or time required
Garden equipment and outdoor accessories
The earlier list included solar path lights, a Suncast Hose Reel Mobile Cart described as holding up to 175 feet of hose, and a raised garden bed. For these products, evaluate illumination coverage and battery or solar performance; hose capacity, reel construction and included fittings; and bed dimensions, drainage, materials and included hardware.

Major appliances produced some of the largest documented dollar savings: USA TODAY reported up to $1,000 off during the 2026 event. Its examples included a Samsung Bespoke 4-Door French Door Refrigerator and a $25 AC tune-up service. Home Depot’s promotional material separately advertised up to 40% off select air conditioners.
These are event examples, not guaranteed current prices. For an appliance, price the full project: delivery, haul-away, installation, required connectors, electrical or plumbing work and the return policy.

Which sale items are worth buying?
The best value usually comes from an item you already planned to buy and can keep for years. A patio set that fits your space, a grill with a useful warranty and an appliance whose installation costs are understood can justify a sale purchase. A cheap accessory is less compelling if it lacks required hardware, has poor weather protection or costs more to deliver than expected.

- Set a delivered-price ceiling. Include shipping, assembly, installation, haul-away and consumables.
- Check the exact model number. “Up to” promotions can apply only to selected finishes, sizes or configurations.
- Compare capacity and specifications. Match seating, cooking area, storage, cooling capacity or camera features to your use.
- Read warranty and return terms. Outdoor exposure, assembly damage and restocking rules matter more than a percentage badge.
- Confirm local stock and timing. A sale price is not useful if delivery misses your season or the item is unavailable nearby.
Are the $12 deals still available?
There is no basis to assume the $12 offers from the May 21, 2025 article remain available. Prices, inventory and promotional terms change by date and store. Treat that figure as the starting point of a historical roundup, not as a standing Home Depot price.
Bottom line for shoppers
Use the 31-deal article as a map of the departments Home Depot tends to discount, not as a live ad. Patio furniture, grills, appliances and garden supplies are the most consistent targets. The strongest recent benchmarks were up to 40% off patio furniture and up to $1,000 off major appliances, but the real bargain depends on model, location, delivery, assembly and warranty costs.
