WuBit’s December 30, 2023 announcement said the company would aggregate trades in inscription markets, bridge BRC-20 assets across those markets, and use the Polygon network to validate transaction data. The announcement describes intended functionality. It does not show that a live service exists, and no independent verification of the claimed bridge to Polygon is documented in the sources cited here. The short answer to “can it really bridge BRC-20 assets to Polygon?” is that the company said it would, that the claim is unverified, and that the Polygon bridge documentation that does exist describes a different chain pair and a different mechanism.
What the announcement actually claims
WuBit’s release was distributed through ACCESS Newswire under the headline “WuBit: Aggregating BRC20 Asset Trades, Ushering in a New Wave of Wealth Effects in the Inscription Market.” The company describes its plan in one central sentence:
“WuBit is launching an innovative strategy for aggregating inscription asset trades, effectively bridging BRC20 assets across all inscription trading markets, and validating transaction data through the Polygon network, ensuring the security of the transactions.”
That sentence contains three separate claims, and each should be read on its own:
#1 Best Overall
- Proven security at scale: Over 9 years and millions of cards issued with no known remote hacks, while military‑grade EAL6+ security keeps your private keys locked inside the chip. Your cryptocurrencies stay strongly protected from online attackers.
- Tap once to manage your entire crypto wallet across 90 blockchains - no USB cables or Bluetooth, no batteries, no setup. Access 14,100+ coins & tokens, DeFi, NFTs, and staking instantly from your phone
- Smart backup: Use your second Tangem Wallet as your Backup keys with end‑to‑end encryption; no more papers, pictures. If one card is lost, the remaining can still restore full access, with an optional seed phrase available for advanced users.
- Engineered to last up to 25 years: Waterproof (IP69K), shockproof and tested for extreme temperatures from −25°C to 50°C. A durable cold wallet with long‑term protection and independently audited security.
- Trusted by 6 million users worldwide - buy, sell, swap, stake, and spend cryptocurrency directly. The secure offline storage wallet designed for how people actually use crypto wallets
- Aggregation: trades across inscription trading markets would be brought together in one service.
- Bridging: BRC-20 assets would move between markets, as the release puts it, “across all inscription trading markets.”
- Validation: transaction data would be validated through Polygon, with the release describing this as ensuring transaction security.
The release also says the service would reduce complexity and improve access, liquidity, and capital efficiency. It closes with the line “With WuBit, we anticipate further leaps in asset liquidity and value!” That is an issuer’s expectation, not a measured result. The phrase “wealth effects” in the headline belongs to the same promotional framing. Nothing in the announcement establishes that users earned or will earn anything.
What the release does not contain matters as much. It gives no live application address, no contract addresses, no list of supported inscriptions or markets, no description of who holds assets during a transfer, and no independent security review. Those are the details a reader would need to judge whether the bridge works.
What BRC-20 is, and why a layer on top cannot remove Bitcoin’s limits
OKX’s help documentation, published December 20, 2023 and updated September 4, 2026, describes BRC-20 as “an experimental standard for issuing fungible tokens on the Bitcoin network.” It uses the Ordinals protocol and JSON inscriptions to record token information and to carry out deploy, mint, and transfer operations on Bitcoin. OKX also notes that BRC-20 is not a conventional account-based fungible-token contract standard, so a balance is not kept in the same way a smart-contract token ledger on Ethereum keeps one.

Because these operations are Bitcoin transactions, they depend on Bitcoin’s own timing and fees. OKX states that transactions require Bitcoin block confirmation and that network congestion or insufficient fees can cause problems or delays. A service that aggregates or bridges trades can organize the process, but it cannot make a Bitcoin confirmation arrive faster or make a low-fee transaction confirm sooner. Any claim of simpler or faster transfers should be checked against those base-layer constraints.

Polygon Support’s article “How does bridging work?” (modified April 29, 2025) describes the Native Bridge between Ethereum and Polygon. In that design, a token leaving Ethereum is locked, and the same amount is minted on Polygon as a pegged token at a 1:1 ratio. When the token returns, the pegged token is burned and the original Ethereum token is unlocked. The article puts it this way: “Any token that leaves the Ethereum blockchain to the Polygon blockchain is locked up.”
That describes a specific Ethereum-to-Polygon bridge. It is not evidence about how WuBit would move Bitcoin inscriptions to Polygon, and the announcement does not say which method, if any, it would use. The table below separates what is documented from what is simply not stated.

| Question | Polygon Native Bridge (documented by Polygon Support) | WuBit (announced in December 2023) |
|---|---|---|
| Source chain | Ethereum | Bitcoin inscriptions (BRC-20); the release does not name a source chain mechanism |
| Transfer method | Tokens locked on Ethereum; pegged tokens minted on Polygon at 1:1 | Not stated |
| Return path | Pegged tokens burned on Polygon; original tokens unlocked on Ethereum | Not stated |
| Role of Polygon | Destination chain for the bridged token | Described as validating or recording transaction data |
| Independent audit or named contracts | Not covered by the Polygon article cited here | Not stated in the announcement |
The gaps in the right-hand column are the point. A reader cannot assume that a Bitcoin inscription sent to Polygon is locked, minted, custodied, or represented in any particular way until the operator publishes those details.
The ORDI price example
The release says an ORDI inscription cost about $1 to mint and later reached $20,000 after listing on a centralized exchange. Those figures are WuBit’s own. The announcement provides no timestamped price series, no source for the trade data, and no evidence that the example was typical. A single cited case, chosen by the company that wants readers to see the upside, cannot tell anyone what an ordinary mint or holding returns.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe example also says nothing about whether a bridge works. A token’s price history and a service’s technical reliability are separate questions, and this announcement answers neither with evidence.

Why balances depend on which indexer you ask
UniSat’s developer documentation separates classic BRC-20 endpoints from BRC20-Prog endpoints and cautions that indexed balances and status are derived by the indexer. A balance shown on one site is that indexer’s interpretation at the time it was read. Other indexers can display different results for the same inscription. Any claim about a holding or a completed mint should name the indexer and the access date, and should be checked against the underlying Bitcoin transactions where possible.

If a service of this kind is offered today, the 2023 announcement cannot answer these questions for you. Work through them in writing before committing any funds:
- Confirm the service is live. Find current official product documentation and the app’s domain, and check whether it matches the company named in the 2023 release.
- List supported inscriptions and markets. Get the exact list from the operator. A general claim of “all inscription trading markets” is not a list.
- Identify the transfer mechanism. Establish whether assets are held by a custodian or locked in a contract, who controls the keys, and what happens to the asset during the transfer.
- Establish the destination asset. Determine whether the Polygon-side asset is native, wrapped, or an issuer-specific representation, and whether it can be redeemed back to the original BRC-20.
- Total the costs. Include the operator’s fees, Polygon transaction costs, and Bitcoin fees, and note that Bitcoin fees and confirmation times vary with congestion.
- Read the failure process. Ask what happens if a transfer stalls or fails, who to contact, and how long recovery takes.
- Look for named audits and contracts. Match any published contract address against on-chain activity, and look for an independent audit report that names its auditor and date.
- Keep your own records. Save transaction IDs, timestamps, the indexer used to check balances, and screenshots of fee and status pages.
How to treat the “wealth effects” promise
Inscription tokens are speculative assets whose prices can move sharply in either direction. A bridge that makes trades easier does not change that risk. Size any position in these assets using money you can afford to lose entirely, and do not treat an issuer’s example, or its expectation of “leaps” in liquidity and value, as a reason to commit more than you planned.

The 2023 WuBit announcement is a statement of intent by one company. It can tell you what the company wanted to build. It cannot tell you that the service exists, works as described, or has produced returns for anyone.
Nearly three years after the release, this article has no current official documentation to cite that confirms WuBit operates the described bridge. Until such documentation and independent verification are available, treat the claims as unverified.
