In the United States, the lowest reported offer in the available October 2026 deal roundup is a Walmart-linked $499 listing for a standalone PS5 with a disc drive. That is a deal lead, not a confirmed live checkout price: check stock, seller, condition, shipping and the final price before buying. Sony’s latest official US prices took effect April 2, 2026; no later price increase announcement is established here.
Reported PS5 deals to check first
GamesRadar’s October 2026 roundup reports these US listing prices. They can change or sell out, and the roundup does not establish what a buyer will pay at checkout.
| Reported offer | Reported price | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Walmart-linked standalone PS5 with disc drive | $499 | Confirm the listing is in stock, identify the seller of record and verify the exact model and final checkout total. |
| Sony Direct Certified Refurbished PS5 Digital Edition | $499 | Confirm refurbished condition, stock, and Sony Direct’s current warranty and return terms. |
| Sony Direct Certified Refurbished PS5 Slim with disc drive | $549 | Confirm refurbished condition, stock, and Sony Direct’s current warranty and return terms. |
These are reported listing prices, not guaranteed offers. The roundup describes the two refurbished prices as $100 below the corresponding newly adjusted US prices. Compare the live listing’s condition and protections as well as the amount saved. See GamesRadar’s PS5 deal roundup.
Before ordering, check the merchant page for the exact console edition, whether it is new or refurbished, who is selling it, shipping charges and the final checkout price. A low displayed price is not necessarily the best total deal, especially if it is a marketplace listing or a different edition than you intended.

What Sony’s latest price increase means
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced updated recommended retail prices on March 27, 2026, effective April 2, 2026. In the US, those recommended prices are $649.99 for the PS5 with disc drive, $599.99 for the Digital Edition and $899.99 for PS5 Pro. These are Sony’s recommended prices, not a promise that retailers charge exactly those amounts.
| Region | PS5 with disc drive | PS5 Digital Edition | PS5 Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $649.99 | $599.99 | $899.99 |
| United Kingdom | £569.99 | £519.99 | £789.99 |
| Europe | €649.99 | €599.99 | €899.99 |
| Japan | ¥97,980 | ¥89,980 | ¥137,980 |
All figures are Sony’s recommended retail prices announced March 27, 2026, and effective April 2, 2026; local retailer prices can differ. Sony’s announcement attributes the increase to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.” The Associated Press reported that the US prices represented a cumulative increase of about 30% compared with the prior year; that comparison is AP’s, not a current deal price. The price change has already taken effect. The official announcement established here is the April 2026 increase; it does not establish a later announced hike. If you are shopping outside the US, use your local retailer’s current price and currency rather than treating the US deal leads as available in your market.
Choose the console that fits how you buy games
PS5 with disc drive
Sony’s US product page lists a 1TB console with a Blu-ray disc drive. It can play PS5 and PS4 game discs, so it is the practical choice if you own physical games or want to use Blu-ray discs. Check Sony’s console details.

- 🚀 CPU: 3.5GHz, 8-core AMD Zen 2
- 🚀 Storage: Custom 825GB SSD
- 🚀 RAM: 16GB GDDR6
- 🚀 GPU: 10.3 teraflop RDNA 2 GPU
PS5 Digital Edition
Sony lists the Digital Edition with 825GB storage and no disc drive. It is designed for digital games and downloads. If you later want disc support, Sony says its removable disc-drive accessory is intended for Digital Edition model groups CFI-2000 and CFI-2100, as well as PS5 Pro; an internet connection is required to pair the drive during setup. Check the console’s model-group number before purchasing the accessory.
PS5 Pro
Sony lists PS5 Pro with 2TB storage. It costs substantially more at the announced US recommended price than the standard models, so compare Sony’s feature descriptions and the support available in the games you care about against that additional cost. The deal listings above do not establish a PS5 Pro discount.

How to judge whether a deal is worth it
- Compare like with like. A disc model, Digital Edition and Pro are different products; a lower price may reflect a different edition rather than a better offer.
- Account for your game library. Physical PS4 or PS5 discs require a disc-capable console. For an all-digital library, the Digital Edition may suit you, but its removable drive is a separate purchase and only works with the specified compatible model groups.
- Evaluate refurbished savings against terms. Review the live warranty, returns and condition details instead of assuming they match a new console.
- Calculate the actual cost. Check shipping and any other charges shown at checkout, along with seller identity and stock status.
For a new console, search by the exact edition and model—such as “PlayStation 5 Slim console”—rather than choosing an ambiguous result based only on a headline price. No specific Amazon offer or live retailer inventory is established here.
