As of October 2026, a 10-year-old Dodge Challenger is a 2016 model. Its value depends heavily on trim: Kelley Blue Book’s national-average Fair Purchase Price runs from $13,600 for an SXT Coupe 2D to $36,200 for an SRT Hellcat Coupe 2D. Those are the two ends of a wide band, and where a specific car lands depends on its exact trim and engine, mileage, condition, options, location, and how it is sold.
Which car counts as “10 years old”
Used-car guides count age by model year, so a 10-year-old Challenger in 2026 is a 2016 model year. Check the model year on the vehicle’s title or registration, and confirm it against the VIN before you look up any value. A 2016 model with a 2017 build date is not a realistic concern, but a mismatch between the listing and the VIN is a reason to slow down.
Kelley Blue Book: the trim sets the spread
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) publishes a national-average Fair Purchase Price for each trim. For 2016 Challengers, the lowest listed figure is $13,600 for an SXT Coupe 2D and the highest is $36,200 for an SRT Hellcat Coupe 2D. The gap between those two endpoints is $22,600, which is larger than the price of many entire used cars. Trim, not age alone, explains most of that spread.
KBB states that individual values vary with mileage, condition, location, and other factors. It also labels these figures as valid through October 7, 2026. Today is October 8, so that label has already passed. Treat the numbers as a starting point and rerun the valuation for your exact car before you rely on it.

Edmunds: a much wider range and transaction types
Edmunds gives a broader estimated used-value range of $4,830 to $32,862 for 2016 Challengers, accessed October 8, 2026. A range that wide is a signal that its estimate depends heavily on the inputs you enter, not that one figure is correct. Edmunds also separates values by transaction type, which is where many sellers lose money without noticing.
Edmunds’ example uses a Challenger with no added options, driven about 12,000 miles per year, in clean condition. For that example, it estimates the following:

This example is one set of assumptions, not a universal price. Edmunds’ methodology is different from KBB’s Fair Purchase Price, so do not substitute one figure for the other, and do not average them together.
CarGurus: what sellers are asking
CarGurus is useful for a different question: what 2016 Challengers are listed for right now. Its listing analysis dated October 5, 2026 reported 1,274 listings with a $24,697 average asking price. A separate trend presentation dated October 7, 2026 showed an average 2016 Challenger price of $24,592, and compared a $25,845 average price with a $26,995 starting MSRP.

These are asking prices from live listings. They are not confirmed sale prices, and they are not an appraisal of your car. A listing can sit unsold for weeks at a price that never closes. Use these numbers to understand the local market, and check each listing’s trim, mileage, and location before comparing it to your own car.
Why one 2016 Challenger can sit far from the average
Averages hide the factors that move a specific car’s value. These are the ones that matter most:

- Trim and engine: an SXT and an SRT Hellcat of the same model year are not comparable.
- Mileage: two identical cars can differ materially in value when their odometer readings are far apart.
- Condition and history: paint, interior wear, mechanical issues, and accident or service history all affect the offer.
- Options: added equipment changes the valuation, and Edmunds’ example assumes no options.
- Location: local demand and regional prices can move the figure in either direction.
- Sale channel: trade-in, private-party, and dealer retail prices are different numbers for the same car.
How to price your own 2016 Challenger
- Confirm the VIN and trim. Read the VIN from the driver’s side dashboard or the registration, then confirm the exact trim and engine it decodes to.
- Record mileage and options. Write down the exact odometer reading, plus any factory or aftermarket equipment you can document.
- Rate condition honestly. Note paint, glass, tires, brakes, interior, and any warning lights. Note any accident or repair history.
- Run KBB with those inputs. Compare the result to the trim range listed above, and check the label date on the figure.
- Run Edmunds for trade-in and private-party values. Use the same inputs for both so the gap between them reflects the sale channel rather than different assumptions.
- Check local listings for matching cars. Filter for the same model year, trim, similar mileage, and a nearby location. Record asking prices and listing dates.
- Compare offers against your numbers. A trade-in offer near the trade-in estimate and a private-party buyer near the private-party estimate is a normal result. A large gap in either direction should prompt a question about condition, history, or the offer itself.
Keep these figures separate
The KBB, Edmunds, and CarGurus numbers come from different providers, measure different things, and are dated differently. Quote each one with its provider, date, and measure. Do not combine them into a single estimate, and do not call a listing price a sale price. Because current values and listings change, rerun each check on the day you need it.
