The £20 up-front figure is real, but it belongs to a bundle, and over the 24-month term it adds up to £644 in total payments. EE’s accessible Nintendo category page also lists a standalone Nintendo Switch 2 at £389 outright or from £29.17 a month at 0% APR. These are different purchases, and the cheapest-looking deposit is not automatically the cheapest deal. Before you apply, compare the total you will pay, what you actually get, and what it costs to leave early.
What the £20 offer adds up to
An EE listing that appeared in search results describes a bundle at £20 today, then £26 a month for 24 months. Working through that schedule gives £20 + (24 × £26) = £644. That is the total of the scheduled payments on the indexed listing, before any other charges that may apply under the agreement.

We could not open the bundle’s product page to confirm that it is currently orderable, so the exact contents, availability and terms should be checked directly with EE. The indexed listing is not the same as the standalone console EE shows on its Nintendo category page. The table below separates the two.
| Item | EE bundle (indexed listing) | EE standalone console (Nintendo category page) |
|---|---|---|
| Paid today | £20 | £389 outright; for the monthly option, an upfront amount is not stated |
| Monthly payments | £26 for 24 months | From £29.17 a month at 0% APR; the term and any deposit are not stated on the page |
| Total scheduled payments | £644 (£20 + 24 × £26, calculated) | £389 outright; the total for the monthly option is not stated |
| What is included | Nintendo Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, 256GB Samsung microSD Express card, 24 months of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, EE Data Passes | The console; the category page does not itemise contents |
| Status | Seen in search results; the product page could not be opened to confirm it is orderable | Listed on EE’s Nintendo category page; prices and stock can change |
The £644 figure is not a like-for-like premium over the £389 console. The bundle contains games, storage and 24 months of subscriptions, so the fair question is whether you would buy those items anyway, and at what price.

Checking the offer before you apply
Work through these steps on EE’s own pages rather than relying on a search snippet.
- Open EE’s Nintendo category page and find the exact product you want. Confirm whether it is the standalone console or a bundle, and note the bundle name.
- Write down the upfront payment, the monthly amount, the number of months and any final payment the agreement requires.
- Multiply the monthly amount by the number of months and add the upfront payment. This is your total payable, and it is the figure to compare against the £389 outright price.
- Check the bundle contents against what you would otherwise buy. For the bundle, that means the game, the microSD Express card and the subscription and data services listed above.
- Read the finance terms and the early-exit section in the agreement itself before you confirm the order.
Finance eligibility and the credit check
EE says its finance runs from 3 to 48 months at 0% to 19.9% APR, and that approval depends on your status and the order value. Its representative example is a £500 order with £50 today and 12 monthly payments of £37.50 at 0% APR. That example is for general finance and is not the Switch 2 offer, so do not use it to estimate your own cost.
EE’s console page says Add to Plan is available to qualifying monthly customers after one month on a device plan or six months on a SIM-only plan, and that it is subject to a credit check. A credit check can leave a record on your file even if you decline the offer, so check your eligibility before you start an application you may not complete.

What happens if you leave early
EE’s console page says that if you leave early, you remain responsible for the remaining accessory balance, in addition to any standard early termination charges under your contract. That wording sits on the accessory terms. Do not assume it applies to the console finance agreement unless the agreement itself says so. Ask EE to confirm, in writing, how an early exit would be calculated for each product in your order.
Is the monthly commitment affordable?
The question is not whether £20 or £26 looks manageable; it is whether you can keep paying for 24 months, and what you would owe if you could not.
- The bundle asks for £26 every month for two years, which is a fixed outgoing that will run alongside your other bills.
- The standalone console’s monthly price starts at £29.17, but that figure is a starting point and does not show the full term.
- If you would not otherwise buy the game, storage or subscriptions in the bundle, the bundle’s extra cost is a purchase you did not plan for.
- If you can save for the £389 outright price, the total cost is lower than any monthly route shown here.
Dated Nintendo bundles to watch
Nintendo UK announced on 16 September 2026 that two new Switch 2 bundles are coming. A Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle will be available from 22 October 2026, and a Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle from 29 October 2026. Each includes the game download and a three-month individual Nintendo Switch Online code. The announcement gives dates but no prices, so compare them with EE’s offers once prices are published.

Nintendo’s standard console listing includes the Switch 2 console, a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, straps, the dock, a grip, an AC adapter, an HDMI cable and an information leaflet. Check whether any bundle you consider includes these items, so that you do not pay twice for them.
Optional extras to consider later
A microSD Express card and a Switch 2 Pro Controller are optional. EE lists the controller separately from the console, and the bundle includes a Samsung 256GB microSD Express card. Only add these if you need the storage or a second controller. Keep them out of the core affordability decision: if you need the card, buy it at the price you would pay anyway, and check that it is compatible with the Switch 2 before you buy.
What this article could not confirm
The £20 offer page could not be checked as live, so we cannot confirm current stock, the exact payment schedule, or whether the offer is still available at the price shown. Prices for the new Nintendo bundles have not been published. The finance term behind the £29.17 monthly figure is not stated. Confirm these points with EE and Nintendo before you commit.
The safest approach is to write down the total you would pay on each route, decide whether you want every item in the bundle, and then apply only for the option you can afford for the full term.
