Varonis Completes $105.953 Million Acquisition of AI Email Security Firm SlashNext

Varonis completed its acquisition of SlashNext on August 28, 2025, and announced the deal on September 2. In a filing for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Varonis disclosed a $105.953 million cash transaction price and said SlashNext technology had been integrated with its platform and Managed Data Detection and Response service.

When did Varonis acquire SlashNext?

Varonis completed the acquisition of SlashNext’s share capital on August 28, 2025. It publicly announced the deal on September 2, 2025. The completion date is documented in Varonis’s 2026 Form 10-Q; the announcement is available from Varonis.

How much did Varonis pay?

Varonis’s filing for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, reported a $105.953 million cash transaction price. That figure reflects a transaction with several accounting components, rather than a simple statement of an unconditional upfront payment.

What does SlashNext do, and why did Varonis buy it?

Varonis described SlashNext as an AI-native email security provider focused on advanced phishing and social-engineering attacks. The stated strategic aim was to extend Varonis’s data-security platform into email and collaboration, with the goal of detecting threats earlier in the attack chain.

In its deal announcement, Varonis said SlashNext used predictive AI techniques including computer vision, natural-language processing, and virtual browsers. It also described intended coverage across email and collaboration channels such as WhatsApp, Slack, Teams, and Zoom. These are Varonis’s descriptions of the technology and intended product coverage, not independent evaluations of its effectiveness.

How does the acquisition affect Varonis’s security offering?

Varonis positioned the combination as linking email, identity, and data security and extending its Managed Data Detection and Response (MDDR) service. By June 30, 2026, Varonis said SlashNext technology had been integrated with its technology platform and MDDR service, according to the Form 10-Q.

The public information establishes that Varonis reported integration at the platform and service level. It does not establish customer adoption, product packaging, or the acquisition’s financial contribution.

What did Varonis report about SlashNext’s detection results?

Varonis’s September 2, 2025 announcement reported results from an independent Tolly Group cloud email security test: 99% overall detection accuracy and 100% detection for business email compromise (BEC) and QR-code attacks. Those figures are Varonis’s account of the test, published in its announcement. They should not be read as a guarantee across all threat types or environments; the figures alone do not establish performance outside the test conditions.
