A contemporaneous report on the notice said candidates could submit the online Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) from August 27 through September 5, 2024, with submissions closing at 6:00 p.m. on September 5. Who needed to submit DAF-I?
DAF-I was the second online application step for candidates who qualified for the IFoS Main Examination through the Civil Services Preliminary Examination screening stage. What did the 2024 rules require?
Under the Indian Forest Service Examination Rules, 2024, candidates had to submit DAF-I online, provide scanned certificates supporting their date of birth, category claims and educational qualification, and pay the prescribed examination fee. The rules said that delayed DAF-I submissions or supporting documents beyond the prescribed date would lead to cancellation of candidature. Why the September 5 deadline is no longer actionable
The IFoS Main Examination was held from November 24 to December 1, 2024. UPSC subsequently moved qualified candidates to the Personality Test stage and announced the final results in 2025. The interview stage used a separate DAF-II; it was not an extension or replacement for DAF-I.
