The UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2025 was scheduled for Sunday, 14 September 2025, and has already taken place. These dates appear on UPSC’s CDS II 2025 examination page. The revised UPSC Annual Calendar 2025 also listed 14 September as the commencement date, while noting that dates could change if circumstances warranted. UPSC’s 4 September 2025 press note subsequently confirmed the exam was to be held that day across India.
CDS II 2025 paper timings
UPSC’s 4 September 2025 press note listed three sessions:

Venue entry closed 30 minutes before each session. These were the timings for the 2025 examination, not a schedule for a future CDS exam.

What UPSC instructed candidates to bring
For the 2025 exam, UPSC instructed candidates to download and print their e-admit cards; it did not issue paper admit cards. Candidates were also required to carry the photo ID whose number appeared on the admit card. UPSC’s press note stated, “No paper Admit Card will be issued for this Examination.” It also instructed candidates to preserve the e-admit card until the final results.
These instructions apply to the 2025 exam. Anyone sitting a later examination should follow the admit-card and entry instructions in that exam’s own official notice.
