The UPSC CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2024 DAF for candidates who qualified in the written exam was scheduled to be submitted from 4 October through 18 October 2024, closing at 6:00 p.m. That window is closed. The form covered the next PST/PET/MST stage—not the later interview-stage DAF where candidates state their force preferences.
What the CAPF 2024 DAF was for
The notice dated 7 October 2024 instructed written-exam qualifiers to complete the Detailed Application Form for the Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test (PST/PET/MST). It was a stage-specific form in the selection process, not a current application opportunity.
The notice said candidates should log in using their One Time Registration (OTR) details and submit the form through UPSC’s online application portal, upsconline.nic.in. UPSC’s website, upsc.gov.in, carries the examination archive and notices; the archived instructions identified the application portal as the place to submit the online form.

What candidates were told to submit and bring
The result release said written-qualified candidates had to register on the relevant UPSC page and submit the online DAF with scanned documents supporting eligibility and reservation claims. Candidates were advised to keep original certificates for claims such as age, educational qualification and community ready for the Personality Test.
The October notice warned that a late DAF or late supporting documents would not be accepted and would lead to cancellation of candidature. That deadline and consequence are stated in an archived reproduction of the 7 October 2024 notice.

Who handled the physical and medical test arrangements
The Ministry of Home Affairs nominated ITBP as the nodal authority for the PST/PET/MST arrangements. The result release said ITBP would notify candidates of test dates, times and venues. Test intimation and e-admit cards were to be made available through the ITBP recruitment website, with email intimation as well.
For the allotted test centre, candidates were instructed to bring:

How this DAF differed from the interview-stage DAF
There are two distinct DAF references in the CAPF selection process. The October 2024 form was for written-qualified candidates moving to PST/PET/MST. Under UPSC’s examination notice, candidates who qualify the medical standards stage are called for an Interview/Personality Test; shortlisted candidates, including those provisionally shortlisted, receive a later DAF in which they indicate their preferences for forces.
The Interview/Personality Test carries 150 marks, and final merit is based on written-examination and interview marks, according to the UPSC examination notice. Those details describe the later selection stage, not the purpose of the October DAF.
