The UGC-NET December 2023 result was declared on 18 January 2024. NTA’s notice instructed candidates to visit the official UGC-NET website, log in, and view, download, or print their scorecard. That is the process NTA announced at the time; the current availability of a legacy login is not confirmed.
UGC-NET December 2023 result date
NTA declared the UGC-NET December 2023 result on 18 January 2024. Its earlier notice, dated 9 January, had revised the planned declaration date to 17 January after a re-examination connected with the natural calamity identified in the notice as “Michaung” in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. Read the 9 January revised-date notice and NTA’s 18 January result release.
In its 18 January release, NTA reported 945,872 registered candidates, 695,928 candidates who appeared, and examinations across 292 unique cities. These are the figures in the result release; an earlier public notice gave a different registered-candidate count.
How NTA said candidates could access the scorecard
NTA’s January 2024 instruction was to visit the official UGC-NET website, log in through the candidate activity, and view, download, or print the scorecard. The release stated: “Candidates can login to the website and view/download/print their Score Card.” This records the historical instruction, not a guarantee that the old login route still works.

As reviewed on 8 October 2026, the official Answer Key and Candidate Activity page shows current and newer exam cycles, but its visible December 2023 section does not expose a December 2023 scorecard link. If the legacy activity is unavailable, use the official portal and contact NTA using the helplines listed in its January 2024 notice: 011-40759000 or 69227700. Avoid unofficial mirrors that ask for candidate credentials.
Final answer key: what was used to process the result
NTA’s result release says the question paper, provisional answer keys, and recorded responses were hosted from 3 to 5 January 2024 for challenges. Candidates could submit challenges from 3 January at 6 p.m. through 5 January at 11:50 p.m., according to the 3 January answer-key challenge notice.
Subject experts reviewed the challenges and finalized the keys. NTA says it processed the result using those expert-finalized keys. The final key is distinct from the scorecard: it records the answers used in evaluation, while the scorecard is the candidate’s result record.

UGC-NET and Joint CSIR-UGC NET are separate examinations, despite their similar names and cycle dates. Before opening or relying on a notice, check that it identifies “UGC-NET December 2023” and is hosted on an official NTA or UGC-NET domain. NTA’s archive also labels materials for the other examination “CSIR-UGC NET December 2023 – Final Answer Keys on which result generated”; those are not the UGC-NET December 2023 final keys.
