The two business aircraft serve different missions: the PC-12 offers turboprop versatility and multiple cabin configurations, while the PC-24 is a jet designed to reach certain short and unpaved runways. Pilatus reported 147 aircraft deliveries in fiscal 2025, and its recent announcements describe manufacturing activity in Spain and planned expansion in the United States.
What is Pilatus Aircraft known for?
Pilatus Aircraft Ltd is a Swiss aircraft manufacturer based in Stans. Its lineup spans business aviation and government aviation, rather than focusing solely on private jets. In its fiscal 2025 results, the company reported deliveries across four types:
| Aircraft | Fiscal 2025 deliveries reported by Pilatus |
|---|---|
| PC-12 | 82 |
| PC-24 | 50 |
| PC-21 | 14 |
| PC-7 MKX | 1 |
The PC-12 and PC-24 are the core of Pilatus’s business-aviation story. The PC-21 and PC-7 MKX serve the government and training side of the portfolio. Pilatus’s March 3, 2026, release also noted orders for PC-7 MKX trainers from the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. These figures and descriptions are company-reported, not independent market estimates. (Pilatus fiscal 2025 results)
How do the PC-12 and PC-24 differ?
The main distinction is propulsion and mission: the PC-12 is a turboprop, while the PC-24 is a business jet. Both can be configured for different uses, but their published features point to different operating priorities.

What does the PC-12 offer?
Pilatus presents the PC-12 as a flexible turboprop platform, with executive, commuter, and air-ambulance interiors. That makes cabin layout and mission a more useful starting point than treating it as a single-purpose private aircraft.

Cockpit equipment varies by aircraft
The current PC-12 product page describes an Advanced Cockpit Environment powered by Garmin, with three 14-inch touchscreen displays, two 7-inch touchscreen smart displays, and Garmin Autoland. These are manufacturer-described features; a prospective buyer should verify the year, installed configuration, and certification applicability for the particular aircraft rather than assume every PC-12 has identical equipment. Can the PC-24 use short or unpaved runways?
Pilatus markets the PC-24 around access to short and unmade runways. Its product page lists a 3,090-foot takeoff distance, a maximum cruise speed of 440 KTAS, and a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles. Those figures describe manufacturer-stated performance; they do not guarantee that a particular runway, route, or payload is suitable. Conditions, loading, aircraft configuration, and operational requirements all matter. (Pilatus PC-24)

Pilatus says the PC-24 can operate from grass, gravel, dirt, and snow surfaces, and describes an optional gravel deflector kit intended to protect the aircraft from dirt and debris. The kit is an aircraft option, not a general-purpose accessory, and runway use still requires an assessment of the aircraft, surface, and operating conditions. (Pilatus PC-24)
Payload-range updates announced for aircraft delivered from 2024
In an October 2023 announcement, Pilatus said PC-24s delivered beginning in 2024 would have improved payload-range capability. The company specified a six-passenger maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles (3,704 km) and said the update increased full-fuel payload by 600 lb (272 kg). It also announced new interior choices, including a convertible divan. These are dated manufacturer claims about the updated aircraft; confirm the specification of any individual aircraft. What did Pilatus report for fiscal 2025?
In results announced March 3, 2026, Pilatus reported CHF 1.672 billion in total sales, CHF 170 million in operating earnings, CHF 1.869 billion in incoming orders, and 147 aircraft delivered during fiscal 2025. The company described the year as unusually challenging, citing volatile US trade tariffs, a sharp decline in the dollar exchange rate, disrupted supply chains, delivery stoppages, and delays. The results are Pilatus’s own reported figures and explanation, not independently verified estimates. (Pilatus fiscal 2025 results)
The company also highlighted the PC-12 PRO digital launch in March 2025 and its Garmin-powered cockpit. The PRO is an update within the PC-12 family, not a separate airframe family. Pilatus said it saw substantial demand for the PC-12 and PC-24; that company statement should not be mistaken for an independently measured market-share figure.

Where does Pilatus manufacture aircraft?
Pilatus’s manufacturing footprint includes Switzerland and newer activity in Spain, with additional US facilities announced as future development.
Spain: production underway, with a further step planned
Pilatus announced the official opening of Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica SA near Seville in December 2025. The company said production ramp-up had started in early 2025, and that the site was already producing PC-24 structural assemblies and PC-12 wiring harnesses. The same announcement said PC-12 structural manufacturing was scheduled to begin in early 2026; that was a plan stated in December 2025, not confirmation that the milestone has since been completed. (Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica announcement)
United States: Sarasota facility announced in January 2026
On January 26, 2026, Pilatus announced a groundbreaking for a new sales, service, and production facility in Sarasota, Florida. The company described aircraft assembly as a future phase, so the announcement does not mean that assembly was already taking place there. Pilatus also said its US subsidiaries had been consolidated into Pilatus Aircraft USA Ltd effective January 1, 2026, and that the US organization had around 400 employees. CEO Markus Bucher described the project as bringing aircraft production to the United States; the release framed assembly as a later phase. (Pilatus Sarasota facility announcement)
What support does Pilatus offer owners?
Pilatus describes its customer-lifecycle offering as extending beyond the aircraft sale to technical support, pilot training, and professional aircraft management. Those services may matter when evaluating the practical demands of ownership or operation. The company’s description does not establish an independent provider, referral arrangement, or a particular cost for any service. (Pilatus company information)

For a buyer comparing the PC-12 and PC-24, the useful next steps are to identify the required mission and cabin layout, verify the exact aircraft’s equipment and performance documentation, and obtain aircraft- and operation-specific cost information. The public figures above do not substitute for those details.
