Some Amazon orders may arrive on Columbus Day, but Amazon does not promise that every order will be delivered that day. In the U.S., Columbus Day falls on Monday, October 12, 2026. USPS regular mail delivery will pause, while UPS lists pickup and delivery as available. Check the estimate and tracking for your specific order and address.
What to expect on Columbus Day 2026
Federal holiday status does not by itself determine whether Amazon or a particular carrier operates. Delivery depends on the order’s address-specific estimate, fulfillment route and carrier. The schedules below describe the named services; they are not guarantees for an individual Amazon package.

The Office of Personnel Management lists Columbus Day as Monday, October 12, 2026, on its 2026 federal holiday schedule.
| Service | Guidance for October 12, 2026 | What it means for an Amazon order |
|---|---|---|
| USPS regular mail | Post Offices will be closed, and regular mail delivery and retail services resume Tuesday, October 13, according to the USPS holiday announcement. | This does not establish that Amazon Logistics or every other carrier stops. |
| UPS | UPS lists pickup and delivery as available. UPS Ground Saver and UPS Mail Innovations shipments need one additional business day of transit because of the federal USPS holiday, according to the UPS holiday schedule. | UPS service availability is not a promise that a particular Amazon order will arrive. |
| Amazon Day | Amazon says this scheduled delivery option is available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, on its Amazon Day help page. | That rule applies to Amazon Day, not every Amazon delivery option. |
How to check whether your package is due that day
- Open Amazon and go to Your Orders.
- Select the order and read its displayed delivery estimate for the address on that order.
- Check the order’s tracking details for updated delivery information as October 12 approaches.
Because carrier operations and estimates can change, rely on the current order estimate and tracking rather than assuming the holiday schedule guarantees a delivery date.

Does USPS deliver Amazon packages on Columbus Day?
USPS says regular mail delivery is suspended on October 12, 2026, and resumes Tuesday, October 13. That schedule does not establish whether an Amazon package handled by Amazon Logistics or another carrier will be delivered. The carrier and current tracking details for the individual order matter.
