Its earnings release described Grand Theft Auto VI as planned for fall 2025 but did not announce the November 19, 2026 launch date the company later gave. That makes “no update” accurate only for the original release—not Take-Two’s current stated schedule.
What Take-Two reported for the holiday quarter
In its fiscal third-quarter 2025 results, Take-Two reported $1.37 billion in net bookings for the three months ended December 31, 2024, a 3% increase from $1.34 billion in the comparable prior-year quarter. The company’s release also identified titles and business activity contributing to results, but the $1.37 billion was a company-wide total, not sales attributed to GTA VI. Bookings are not the same as revenue
Take-Two defines net bookings as the net amount of products and services sold digitally or physically during a period. The measure includes licensing fees, merchandise, in-game advertising, strategy guides, and publisher incentives. The company reports GAAP net revenue separately, so the $1.37 billion figure should be called net bookings—not revenue. The fiscal third-quarter 2026 figures and the company’s definition of net bookings appear in its quarterly release. The fiscal first-quarter 2027 figures are from Take-Two’s release for the three months ended June 30, 2026. The first-quarter 2027 release reiterated a fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion; that is a full-year outlook, not a quarterly result.

What the figures do—and do not—tell you
- The $1.37 billion total measures Take-Two’s overall net bookings for that quarter; it is not a GTA VI sales figure.
- The holiday-quarter release’s fall 2025 plan is historical. The company subsequently announced November 19, 2026, and repeated that date in later results releases.
- Take-Two’s fiscal first-quarter 2027 results reported $1.39 billion in net bookings and reiterated the company’s fiscal-year outlook.
