Which TNPSC recruitment did the 654-post headline refer to?
It referred to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s Combined Technical Services Examination (Non-Interview Posts), Notification No. 9/2024. The figure of 654 vacancies belongs to that 2024 recruitment, not to an open 2026 application round. TNPSC’s official Notification No. 9/2024 identifies the recruitment category and application deadline; contemporaneous Scroll coverage reported the total as 654 vacancies.
What were the deadline and correction dates?
- Application deadline: 24 August 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
- Correction window: 28 August 2024 at 12:01 a.m. through 30 August 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
The correction period was for changes to an existing application, not a later chance to file a new one. Both dates have passed.
Has the recruitment moved beyond registration?
Yes. TNPSC’s examination record lists the 2024 Non-Interview Posts examination in October 2024 and subsequent answer-key milestones. Its press-release archive later listed Phase VIII physical certificate verification for posts under Notification No. 09/2024 in April 2026. These later stages confirm that this is not an active registration cycle.

How can you check for current TNPSC openings?
Use TNPSC’s official press releases and current notices to check for open recruitment and its exact notification number, post category, deadlines, and application instructions. The archive also lists a separate CTS Interview Posts notification in August 2026. That is distinct from the closed 2024 Non-Interview Posts recruitment and should not be confused with its 654 vacancies.
For any future application, read the relevant notification and TNPSC Instructions to Applicants in full, and verify that you meet the stated conditions. The 2024 notice said that admission to examination stages was provisional and did not itself confer a right to appointment; that provision should not be treated as the terms of a different notification.
