The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee described his Team USA honorary coach position as a volunteer role; his separate work for NBCUniversal is a different job, and its 2026 pay has not been established.
Why there are two different answers to “Is Snoop Dogg getting paid?”
“Olympics” can refer to two separate roles. On December 10, 2025, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) named Snoop Dogg Team USA’s first honorary coach, describing the position as a volunteer role focused on celebrating and supporting athletes away from competition. The USOPC said this was in addition to his previously announced NBCUniversal work. Read the USOPC announcement.
NBC Sports separately announced on September 28, 2025, that Snoop would return for NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games, sharing his perspective during primetime coverage on NBC and Peacock. The Games took place in Italy from February 6–22, 2026. Read NBC Sports’ announcement.
So, the honorary Team USA role was characterized as volunteer, while the broadcaster role is separate. The available sources do not disclose Snoop’s NBC compensation for 2026.

Where the $500,000-a-day figure came from
The often-repeated “$500,000 a day” figure traces to Paris 2024, not Milano Cortina 2026. Sporting News reported that venture capitalist Henry L. McNamara posted that he had heard the amount from an NBC executive at dinner. The outlet also noted that NBC had not confirmed the figure. It is an attributed, unverified claim—not a confirmed salary or an official disclosure. Read Sporting News’ account.
Good Housekeeping’s 2026 report likewise said it was unclear how much NBC paid Snoop for the Winter Games, while recounting the Paris claim. That historical rumor does not establish his 2026 rate, the length of any engagement, or the terms of a contract. Read Good Housekeeping’s report.

What his Olympic work does—and does not—show about pay
NBC Sports’ February 11, 2026 media conference transcript identifies Snoop as a special correspondent and describes his interactions with athletes and their families. Asked about balancing Team USA and NBC, he called it “a juggling act.” He also spoke about supporting athletes in sport and in life. Those comments provide context for the two roles, but disclose no compensation terms. Read the NBC Sports transcript.
NBC Olympics coverage also described him as an NBC correspondent and Team USA honorary coach and showed his public activities in Italy. Public appearances, athlete encouragement, and broadcast work do not reveal what he was paid. See NBC Olympics’ coverage.

How to read the salary headlines
- “Team USA honorary coach”: The USOPC called this a volunteer role; no salary for that position is established in the cited announcement.
- “NBC correspondent” or “NBC coverage”: This is a separate broadcaster role. NBC announced the work, but the sources cited here do not state its 2026 compensation.
- “$500,000 per day”: This is a 2024 Paris Games claim attributed to McNamara and reported as unconfirmed by NBC—not a verified 2026 figure.
There is no basis in these sources to carry the Paris rumor forward, multiply it by days at the 2026 Games, or treat it as pay for the honorary coach position.
