Much of the programming was expected at Plug and Play’s Seattle office inside the University of Washington’s CoMotion Labs. GeekWire also reported that Plug and Play had space at SNBL Global Gateway in Everett, Washington. Plug and Play Enterprise & AI named SBI Holdings USA and SNBL as partners in its Batch 2 post; Jack Callaghan’s repost thanked SNBL and SBI Investment for their support.
Why were six described as local?
GeekWire identified six of the 10 companies as based in Seattle. The remaining four were listed in San Carlos and Santa Clara, California; Calgary, Alberta; and Princeton, New Jersey. That location count is the basis for the “local” framing; it does not establish where the companies are based today.
Rank #2
The roster spanned enterprise and developer software, cybersecurity and data protection, biotech and drug discovery, immigration services, space infrastructure, and hospitality technology. These are useful broad descriptions rather than a single official industry classification. The program director, Jack Callaghan, told GeekWire that founders from the Pacific Northwest and beyond had chosen Seattle as a market for commercialization, describing that as a sign of the region’s strength. That is his perspective on the cohort, not evidence that participation produced commercial or regional economic outcomes.
