What the Public Mobile promotion included
MobileSyrup reported the offer on March 21, 2025. The eligible plans were listed as Canada-US-Mexico options:

MobileSyrup described the benefit as a one-time credit toward the third month of service, equal to the rate-plan charge for the previous two months before tax. The credit was to be applied automatically to eligible plans. Another contemporaneous report summarized the promotion as a third month free for new activations on plans costing $35 per month or more. How the credit worked
This was not a waiver of the first bill. Customers first paid for service, then the one-time credit was intended to reduce the rate-plan charge for month three. Taxes and add-ons were excluded, so the credited amount did not necessarily eliminate the entire bill. The credit could expire if the account became inactive or the customer changed rate plans, according to MobileSyrup’s reporting. MobileSyrup’s report

Is the offer available now?
The March 2025 promotion is not verified as currently available. Public Mobile’s current plan page shows changing plans and promotions but does not confirm this third-month credit; its homepage displays offers that differ from the historical deal. Check Public Mobile’s current plans and its homepage for any replacement offer and its terms before signing up.
What to compare if you are shopping for a replacement
A current offer may use different eligibility rules or benefits. Compare the complete plan and promotion terms rather than treating a headline “free month” as equivalent to this expired credit. In particular, check:

- Whether coverage is Canada-only or includes the United States and Mexico.
- Included talk, text, and any international minutes.
- Whether the promotion is limited to new activations and the date by which you must activate.
- When a credit applies, what charges it covers, and whether taxes or add-ons are excluded.
- What could void or expire the credit, such as changing plans or allowing the account to become inactive.
