TELUS’s 5G+ Complete plans include a five-year lock on the eligible monthly plan charge, not on the total bill. Taxes, government fees, discounts, promotions, bill credits, add-ons and pay-per-use services are outside the guarantee. TELUS says the broader five-year plan-price-lock policy was introduced nationally across mobile and home in 2025; its current plan pages do not establish when the specific Complete plans launched or what their launch prices were.
What the five-year price lock covers
TELUS defines the Rate Plan Price Lock as applying to the monthly charge for an eligible post-paid mobility plan before applicable taxes, government-imposed fees, discounts, promotions and bill credits. The five-year period starts when an eligible plan is activated. TELUS’s plan terms describe the lock; customers should check the current offer and eligibility conditions before activating.
The guarantee is therefore narrower than a promise that your bill will remain unchanged. A monthly statement can change even if the locked plan charge does not.
Charges that can still change
- Applicable taxes and government-imposed fees.
- Discounts, promotions and bill credits, which are excluded from the locked amount.
- Rates for features, add-ons and pay-per-use services, including Easy Roam.
Those exclusions mean a change in an optional service or a discount ending can affect what you owe without changing the eligible base plan charge.

When the lock can end
TELUS says the lock lasts five years from eligible activation. It may be removed if you change or renew the plan or stop meeting the eligibility criteria. The protection is tied to the qualifying plan and its terms, not permanently attached to the account.
Before making a plan change or renewal, confirm whether the new plan qualifies and whether the change ends the existing lock. The terms do not promise that switching preserves the original five-year period.

What 5G+ Complete includes—and what it does not guarantee
Price protection is separate from network performance and plan features. TELUS advertises 5G+ download speeds of up to 2 Gbps, but says actual speeds vary with the device, configuration, network, traffic and environmental conditions. A 5G+ plan does not guarantee 5G access: a compatible device and network coverage are required. See TELUS’s current mobility plan details for live features and conditions.
TELUS says its unlimited plans have no data overage charges in Canada. After the applicable high-speed data threshold, however, maximum speed is reduced to 512 Kbps for the rest of that billing cycle.

Roaming and other included features
TELUS lists national talk and text, international texting, Call Control and TELUS Rewards among 5G+ plan features. Easy Roam is advertised from $5 per day. Its Complete Explore plan includes roaming in 68 destinations, subject to destination and usage conditions. TELUS notes that its destination list can change; calls to numbers outside Canada and included destinations, premium texts and roaming outside included destinations may incur extra charges. Check the current plan page for the destinations and terms that apply to your offer.
Customers with eligible TELUS home services may qualify for a mobility discount. Eligibility and discount amounts can change, so verify the live offer rather than treating a discount as part of the locked plan charge.

What TELUS’s 2025 announcement establishes
TELUS’s 2025 annual report says the company introduced a five-year plan price lock across mobile and home nationally as part of refreshed TELUS and Koodo value propositions. It does not give a specific announcement date or launch prices for the named 5G+ Complete plans. The report also says TELUS’s 5G network covered 90% of the Canadian population as of December 31, 2025; that is a company-reported coverage figure, not an independent measure of speed or service at a particular address. If you have an outstanding device balance on an older plan, TELUS says you must pay it off before moving to 5G+ Complete. Device costs are separate from the rate plan under TELUS Easy Payment. You can bring a compatible phone or choose a TELUS phone option; purchasing a handset is not required to receive the price lock. Review the current plan and BYOD terms before changing service.

How to judge whether the lock matters for you
Compare the plan’s current eligible monthly charge with what you need, but assess the whole cost rather than treating the lock as a fixed-bill guarantee. Check:
- How much high-speed data is included and when the speed reduction applies.
- Whether included roaming destinations match your travel, and what out-of-zone use costs.
- Which portion of the monthly charge is eligible for the lock and which fees, discounts or services are excluded.
- Whether you have a device financing balance or rely on a discount whose terms may change.
Current prices and offers can vary, and the official materials do not provide a stable historical launch price or a sourced consumer-savings estimate. The practical value of the lock depends on the qualifying plan charge and on how your other bill components change during the five-year term.
