What were the nine Garmin Black Friday deals?
Tom’s Guide writer Nick Harris-Fry reported the following U.S.-dollar prices on November 21, 2025. They are a dated snapshot, not current quotes. The descriptions below reflect that article’s framing, not an independent comparative test.
| Watch | Reported price (November 21, 2025) | How the article positioned it |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin Forerunner 55 | $149, down from $199 | Entry-level running watch for beginners; the article said it was often discounted. |

Was the Forerunner 265 really at its lowest-ever price?
In its November 21, 2025 article, Tom’s Guide called $299 a return to the Forerunner 265’s cheapest-ever price at that time. Harris-Fry wrote, “I hoped the Forerunner 265 would drop by $100 in the sales, so this $150 saving is an incredible deal for a fantastic AMOLED multisport watch.” That was his assessment of the 2025 offer, not a current recommendation or a verified record for later dates. To judge a new offer, compare the checkout price with a reliable recent price history for the same model and size.

How to choose between the Forerunner 165 and 265
Start with the activities and training detail you actually need, rather than the markdown alone. The cited article characterizes the 165 as an entry-level AMOLED running watch and the 265 as a multisport watch with training analysis and tracking. Its 2025 reported prices were $199 for the standard 165, $249 for the 165 Music, and $299 for the 265; those figures should not be treated as current prices.
- Choose the 165 line if you want an entry-level running watch and its feature set fits your needs.
- Consider the 165 Music if the music variant is the one you want; confirm the exact model in the listing.
- Consider the 265 if its multisport and training-analysis features matter enough to justify the price difference at the offer you verify.
Is the Fenix 8 worth paying more for?
There is no universal answer: the right comparison depends on what you need from a watch. The 2025 roundup framed the Fenix 8 as a premium option and listed a steel version at $749 and a titanium version at $849. It positioned other choices for different priorities: the Forerunner models for running and training, the Instinct 3 for a choice of AMOLED or solar/MIP display, and the Fenix 7X Pro for a large X-size MIP model. Compare the exact variant, display, size, navigation needs and price you can buy today; the historical markdown alone cannot establish value.

How to check whether a Garmin deal is worth buying
- Open the retailer’s current product page and confirm the watch name, size, display and variant match the model you intend to buy.
- Check who sells and ships the item, whether it is in stock, and the price shown at checkout—not just a headline or crossed-out price.
- Compare that price with recent prices for the same variant. A discount against a stated former price does not by itself prove that the offer is unusually low.
- Check the offer’s dates and terms. Do not assume a deal from a past sale is still available.
The October 2026 Amazon Prime Big Deal Days coverage concerned a promotion on October 6–7, not a confirmed offer on October 8. Gadgets & Wearables’ October 5, 2026 coverage is seasonal context only; it does not establish current availability after the event.
