They are also not all coffee: the list includes brewed coffee, powdered alternatives, single-serve packets, and an herbal tea. The most useful way to compare them is by caffeine, format, taste, and how clearly each product’s ingredients and amounts are disclosed.

Which one may fit your preferences?
If you want something closest to brewed coffee
Four Sigmatic Think Organic Coffee is the clearest fit among these picks if you want to brew coffee rather than mix a coffee substitute. The review describes its appearance and taste as close to ordinary coffee, and lists several brewing and serving formats. “Regular caf” is not a precise caffeine amount, though, so check the current package if you are monitoring caffeine.
If you prefer a powdered, chocolate-leaning drink
Joe’y High-Grade Coffee Alternative was described as earthy and chocolate-forward, while VitaCup ’Shroom Fuel was described as milder and similar to hot chocolate. Both are powders, so mixing and texture matter: the reviewer found Joe’y harder to mix and VitaCup easy to mix with a frother, with some sediment in the latter. Those are one reviewer’s observations, not guaranteed results for every preparation.
If minimizing caffeine is the priority
The review reported less than 5 mg per serving for VitaCup ’Shroom Fuel and described Rasa Original as caffeine-free. Those are materially different claims: one is a small reported amount, while the other is a caffeine-free product description. Confirm the current label, serving size, and ingredients, particularly if even small amounts of caffeine matter to you.

If ingredient amounts are important
Look at the product’s ingredient list and ask whether a stated amount refers to mushrooms alone or to a blend. In the review, Joe’y’s 3,000 mg figure covered mushrooms and “superfoods” together; it should not be read as 3,000 mg of mushrooms. The review says Rasa’s packaging listed adaptogen amounts, but does not provide those amounts in the available description.
What “mushroom coffee” means in this list
The label covers unlike drinks. Four Sigmatic is coffee to brew; Joe’y and VitaCup are powdered drinks; Rasa Original is loose herbal tea. That distinction affects how you prepare each product and whether it contains coffee or caffeine. A product’s name or marketing category alone does not tell you its caffeine level.

Plowe’s August 28, 2024 review says she considered nutritional profile, ingredients, taste, third-party testing, added sugars, and whether brands disclosed mushroom quantities. It describes an initial comparison of mixing, smell, flavor, and texture, with products prepared according to label directions, followed by trying a different product on subsequent days and noting perceived energy changes and gastrointestinal symptoms. These were the reviewer’s reported methods and observations; they are not new tests conducted for this article. The review’s summary says its picks undergo third-party testing, but no certificates or testing reports are independently evaluated here.

The review discusses marketing promises about concentration, bloating, and stress, but its product tasting does not establish that these drinks improve focus, energy, or health. Plowe reported no noticeable difference in energy or focus with at least the Four Sigmatic product during her testing period. That personal observation is not a clinical finding either for or against a health effect.
