There is no verifiable evidence in the accessible material that “smart money” is buying a particular set of five cryptocurrencies. The TechBullion post behind that claim, dated April 28, 2025, is not fully accessible; its search excerpt mentions Qubetics ($TICS) but does not reveal the full list or substantiate investor activity. A more useful watchlist is five networks with distinct stated functions and developments reported for September 2026: Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Sui, and Chainlink. Those reports are milestones to investigate, not proof of adoption, token demand, or investment merit.
What “real-world utility” can—and cannot—tell you
In crypto, utility usually means a network or service performs a function: executing applications, transferring value, or connecting on-chain software to data and other networks. That function may be useful without making its associated token a good value. A network upgrade or integration announcement also does not establish how many people use the service, whether use is growing, or whether that activity creates demand for the token.
WazirX’s beginner guide advises considering a crypto asset’s use case alongside liquidity, history, availability, volatility, and risk. Its October 2026 watch-list article likewise cautions readers to look for measurable follow-through after announcements. The five candidates below are not ranked, and the dated developments are WazirX’s reporting, not independent performance tests.
Five crypto networks to watch for distinct uses
| Asset | Stated network function | September 2026 development reported by WazirX | What the report does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum (ETH) | Smart contracts and applications, including DeFi, NFTs, tokenization, and stablecoins. | Continued public testing for the Glamsterdam upgrade. | Testing alone does not show upgrade completion, user growth, or increased demand for ETH. |
| Solana (SOL) | A blockchain for DeFi and other applications, described by WazirX as faster and lower-cost. | Anza’s Agave 4.3 mainnet-beta upgrade candidate included Alpenglow-related functionality. WazirX reported a project target of roughly 150 ms finality, compared with approximately 12.8 seconds under the existing process. | The finality figures are reported targets and comparisons, not independent measurements of live network performance. |
| Avalanche (AVAX) | A Layer-1 network that supports smart contracts. | WazirX reported that Helicon activated on mainnet on September 22, 2026. | The reported activation date does not demonstrate sustained use or token demand. |
| Sui (SUI) | A Layer-1 network aimed at DeFi, gaming, payments, and digital assets. | WazirX reported that the DeepBook App went live on September 24, 2026. | A launch announcement does not establish adoption, transaction activity, or durable demand. |
| Chainlink (LINK) | Infrastructure connecting blockchain applications with external data, systems, and other networks. | WazirX reported that the Wyoming Stable Token Commission adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve on September 2, 2026, and that Data Streams and CCIP support expanded to Arc during September. | Integration announcements need to be distinguished from evidence of actual use and continuing adoption. |
The use cases and developments in this table are described in WazirX’s beginner guide and October 2026 watch-list article. They are a snapshot, not a timeless ranking or price outlook.

How to evaluate a utility claim before watching a token
- Identify the actual function. Is the network executing applications, transferring value, or supplying data and interoperability? These functions are not interchangeable.
- Separate a milestone from usage. A test, upgrade, app launch, or announced integration is a step in development. Look for measurable evidence that people or organizations use the service beyond the announcement.
- Check the token’s connection to the service. A network can provide a useful product without that usefulness translating directly into demand for its token. Establish how the token is used rather than assuming the connection.
- Assess risks beyond the use case. Consider volatility, liquidity, availability in your jurisdiction, delivery risk, and your ability to tolerate a loss. Utility does not remove market or execution risk.
Why the “smart money” claim needs caution
The accessible TechBullion excerpt does not name investors, provide dated flows, or show other evidence that institutional or otherwise informed investors are buying the five assets. It mentions Qubetics ($TICS), a presale, and a Web3 aggregation and developer-tooling pitch, but the complete article and its full list could not be verified. That is not enough to reconstruct its five picks or validate the headline’s investor claim.
The watchlist here is therefore an independently framed set of networks with different stated functions and reported September 2026 developments—not a claim about what investors are buying. Bitcoin, XRP, and USDT serve different roles: WazirX describes Bitcoin in terms of digital scarcity and decentralized value transfer, XRP as payment-oriented, and USDT as a dollar-tracking stablecoin used in transfers and trading. Those roles should not be compared as though they were the same kind of platform.
