Four campaigns highlighted in a July 2025 roundup used very different ways to attract attention: designer humor on a London billboard, a podcast about beauty ideals, a junior-golf and apparel partnership, and a family-focused car-cleaning activation. Holly Choules’s August 5, 2025 article for Website Builder Expert selected these examples; it was an editorial roundup, not an awards result or a measured ranking. Its descriptions offer ideas to consider, but no shared performance data establishes which campaign worked best.
How the four campaigns compare
The examples differ in what they asked audiences to notice or do. This comparison describes their formats and intended connections, not their relative effectiveness.
| Campaign | Format | Audience connection | Participation | Shareability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canva | Out-of-home advertising | Designer humor built around a familiar client request | None required to see the billboard | The visual joke could be shared; the roundup reports anecdotal praise from professionals on LinkedIn |
| Dove | Podcast series | Revisited 2000s culture and beauty ideals in keeping with Dove’s body-confidence and self-esteem positioning | Listening to the series | Content could be discussed or shared; no sharing figures are reported |
| Taco Bell and Bad Birdie | Junior golf competition and limited-edition apparel capsule | Connected Taco Bell with golf and apparel audiences through a partnership | Sixteen junior golfers competed in a two-day event, according to the roundup | The roundup notes anecdotal social-media interest in the apparel |
| Goldfish | In-person family activation | Turned a familiar family-car mess into a playful brand experience | Families could receive complimentary car cleaning and Goldfish crackers in 15 flavors | The service and its visual premise offered potential for social sharing; no reach figures are reported |
What each campaign did
Canva: a design-industry joke in a public place
At London’s Waterloo Station, commuters saw a large Canva logo beside the line, “When ‘make the logo bigger’ goes a bit too far,” Choules reported. The billboard was part of a broader campaign promoting Canva’s graphic design tools. The joke draws on a recognizable design-industry frustration, giving the advertisement a specific audience insight rather than relying only on a general product claim.
Choules says professionals praised the work on LinkedIn, but the roundup gives no figures for exposure, engagement, or business results. That anecdotal response indicates interest, not proof of campaign impact.

Dove: a podcast revisiting 2000s beauty ideals
Dove’s Why2K? podcast series examined 2000s culture and the lasting effects of beauty ideals from that era. Pamela Anderson was a featured ambassador, according to the roundup. The format gave Dove room to address a topic connected to its body-confidence and self-esteem positioning, with content intended to offer value beyond a direct product pitch.
The article does not report listening numbers or other performance results, so it cannot establish how widely the series reached its audience or what effect it had.
Taco Bell and Bad Birdie: golf meets limited-edition apparel
The partners held a two-day golf competition for 16 promising junior golfers, with a place at a professional tournament as the prize, and released a limited-edition capsule wardrobe. The combination brought Taco Bell into a setting outside its usual food context and paired the event with apparel that could extend attention beyond the competition.
Choules describes social-media interest in the clothing anecdotally. The roundup does not provide sales, participation beyond the 16 golfers, or reach figures.

Goldfish: a playful service for families
Over Fourth of July weekend, Goldfish ran its Goldfish Retrieval Service on the Jersey Shore, offering families complimentary car cleaning to remove crumbs and crackers from car seats. The activation also offered Goldfish crackers in 15 flavors, according to Choules. It paired a practical chore with a playful brand idea, creating a clear reason for families to stop by and a visual premise that could travel on social media.
No attendance, reach, or sales results are given, so the roundup does not establish how many people took part or whether the activation changed purchasing.

What marketers can take from the examples
These cases illustrate four possible approaches, not tested rules for improving campaign results. Choules’s advice is to understand the target audience, make content purposeful, choose unexpected but value-aligned partners, and design experiences people may want to share.
- Start with a recognizable audience insight. Canva’s joke depended on a design-world request its intended audience could recognize. The broader lesson is to make the creative idea specific enough to feel relevant.
- Give content a reason to exist beyond promotion. Dove’s podcast connected a cultural subject to the brand’s stated positioning. A purpose-led format still needs a genuine fit between the subject, audience, and brand.
- Make partnerships surprising but coherent. Taco Bell and Bad Birdie crossed categories through golf and apparel. The roundup’s rationale is that an unexpected pairing can reach audiences beyond a brand’s usual setting when the partners’ values fit.
- Build an experience around a real audience need. Goldfish turned car-seat crumbs into the premise for a family activation. For an event or pop-up, consider whether an eye-catching photo backdrop or quirky prop would give people a reason to engage and share.
None of these examples supplies enough evidence to predict results for another brand. Treat them as creative prompts, then define what success means for your own audience and measure it directly.
