Which companies and brands were involved?
In its submitted-notice record, the California Attorney General identifies TMX Finance Corporate Services, Inc. as acting for itself, its parent, TMX Finance LLC, and affiliates including TitleMax, TitleBucks and InstaLoan. An April 4, 2023, incident summary by Ankura CTIX described the subsidiaries as a car-title-loan company (TitleMax), a car-title-secured lending, pawn and personal-loan business (TitleBucks), and a personal-loan service (InstaLoan). How many people were affected?
A complaint filed April 6, 2023, said TMX acknowledged that the breach affected 4,822,580 consumers. The number appears in the complaint’s account of TMX’s Maine notice; it should be understood as a figure reported in that legal filing, not as a court’s adjudicated finding. Court complaint

The Maine Attorney General’s listing says Maine residents were notified on March 15, 2024, and records an offer of a 12-month Experian IdentityWorks membership.
