This March 26, 2025, briefing covered overnight grain and soybean trading, USDA’s latest frozen red-meat inventory figures, and a dated fire-danger forecast for eastern Nebraska and parts of Iowa. Its market prices and weather details are historical, not current conditions.
What moved grain and soybean markets on March 26?
Successful Farming reported that grain and soybean futures were little changed overnight as investors weighed uncertainty around a reported maritime ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. The article said the countries had agreed to halt maritime activity and stop strikes on energy infrastructure, while describing disputes over Russian conditions involving some bank, food and fertilizer sanctions. It also said Ukraine accused Russia of retreating from promises and that the ceasefire’s start was unclear. These are the article’s account on March 26, not independently verified terms of an agreement. Successful Farming’s March 26 briefing
The briefing attributed crop-weather outlooks to Commodity Weather Group. It reported that rain was expected to ease stress in 30% of Brazil’s safrinha corn areas that week, while a drier outlook for the following 6–15 days was expected to increase plant stress. Widespread rain was forecast in soybean-growing areas of Argentina, especially in the south and east. These were forecasts issued in the context of that dated report, not descriptions of current weather.
